It's not political and it's of interest to most people on here, and the team read this and use heating for their homes, so it's ok

It's important to know whether it's cheaper to stay at home for a 19:45 KO in October or whether it'll be cheaper, and more importantly, warmer to huddle under a sheet of tarpaulin with 3 or 4 others and a whippet watching us not score.

You enter the stadium with a whippet under your coat? I just thought that you were pleased to see me.

Find the make and model number of the wireless thermostat, if it is not on the outside, it should on the inside of the removable cover or on the circuit board. Just google the model number to find the manual online (I had to do this for mine – Honeywell HCW 80)

In the case of mine I have press and hold a button on the receiver for 5 seconds which causes a red LED to flash quickly. I then press a button on the thermostats circuit board. If the pairing is successful the red LED will stop flashing.

Cheers, I tried to pair but I think the receiver has packed in. Got heating cover and the engineer said same today. I have a nest one I bought a year or two ago and never got around to installing so getting that put in next week….

I’m serious when I say you should write a history of these old Cardiff pubs. You’ve a great knowledge. When I step outside my front door I see the old Brains chimney and it still upsets me we’ve lost so much of the city.

I'm gutted if I have to turn the heating on before the end of October, but tonight I've closed all the windows for the first time. We're still using AC in the bedrooms. And I've got a a ceiling fan on now. but it's been chilly in the rest of the house in the mornings with the windows open. Relatively so. I'm still walking 'round the house in shorts and a t shirt. The last time I was home in Wales in in the summer, my parents had the heat on in August.

October can be very nice. November and December seem similar to South Wales to me. January, February and most of March are brutal. It can be very sunny though. Sepetember for me is the sunniest month. It's so bright. There's very little haze or humidity.

It was pretty hot here in august wasn’t it? Your parents had the heating on?

So people are starting to turn their heating/burners on, next week it's getting colder I would imagine a lot more will be going on.

Not sure how I found this on a "Turn on the Heating thread"...BUT......a great great idea.....if we can work together I would love to set up a website (no cost) to show these great old places....liberytbs.co.uk

...as for heating....here in the Dordogne...it's chilly mornings when children (NOT kids...) go to school.....but other than that it;s still shorts and T-shirts. Closed the pool today before the enormous amount of leaves come down.....keeps me fit...!!
