Thread: Football museums

    Football museums

Apparently a Football Museum for Wales is being planned, based in Wrexham. Our club has just tweeted a link to a survey about it (not that it asks very much)
    https://yourmuseum.wales/

It got me thinking though - what would you put in a Cardiff City FC museum?

A trophy cabinet of course (1 FA Cup, 1 Charity Shield, 22 Welsh Cups, various division titles), and a feature about the FA Cup win, but what else? (Serious and silly suggestions please!)

    Re: Football museums

The club bought £40k or so of CCFC memorabilia at auction in February 2020 so they have the basis of exhibits for a museum already. I believe a space has already been earmarked in the Upper Ninian (I think) but funds are needed to kit out the space and therein lies the problem. No budget and probably not high up the list of club priorities

I went on a tour of the Bernabeu and there wasn't really a lot of 'stuff' just a lot of videos, shirts and balls. It would be cool to see a history our kits with footage or pictures of the games we played them in - European games, the welsh cup kits etc.

The entrance would be a massive pair of triangular corner flags with 'capital city FC' written on them.

The National Football Museum in Manchester is a great place to visit if you’re ever in the area.

I went there just as it was being set up and they didn't have much there yet. Might be worth another look.

It was moved down from Deepdale a few years back. I was there about 3/4 years ago, really enjoyed it.

I'd add Peter Thorne's (invisible) magic hat and a bowl of the water Tony Evans used to walk on.

Hate it when our fans say that about Jones.
How would you have reacted after being accused of being a Paedophile, and getting dragged through court before finally being able to clear your name.
No wonder the guy was bitter.

Read his book so fully get his backstory and it must have been horrendous

I was thinking more about his approach with local journos especially tucker which for me got comical at times

I've just thought of another two exhibits:

Kenny Hibbert's moustache and baseball cap
