Election for Police amnd crime comissioner

How do you know who to vote for?

Can they say they won't enforce 20mph and I'll vote!

Or go soft on Cardiff City crowd gestures?

Or stop picking on motorists and try and nick some burglars?

    What else?

This post is designated a politically restricted post. Your current salary is £ £68,690 per annum (pro rata). Subject to satisfactory performance your salary will increase within the scale by annual increments, (up to the maximum of the scale).

Peanuts the Met one gets £151K both are hopeless at real crime.

Has anyone seen to Catch a Copper, it's worth a watch, they all get away with murder virtually !

Police forces in Wales should merge like they have done in Scotland plus the Police should not be political so commissioners should be scrapped

I'm voting with my feet and not walking to the postbox to post my ballot paper.

We haven’t been blessed with them yet, but when we do, they’re going straight in the bin

Is Alan Michael standing for the role again ?

The current incumbent Alan Michael, who failed as Labour leader, before finding the facts stated that the police were not in pursuit of the boys who were killed in a traffic accident in Ely.

Numerous mobile phone footage posted on social media shows that is exactly what was happening when they both so tragically died.

This is the type of person who will be re-elected because of the political system and the general apathy of the citizens

The turnout in the Police Commissioner elections is always very low, so if the 20mph protestors wanted to make a point, it shouldn't be that hard to get Michael voted out. There will be candidates sponsored by the other parties, but it would make more sense if the protestors concentrated on one of them, rather than spreading their protest across the whole field, and letting Michael back in by default.
Considering the guy has been in Welsh politics for over thirty years, it's notable how little he has achieved. He's just coasting along, doing very little, and earning a decent wake for it. Whenever I see him on tv, what really comes across is his contempt for the general public. I'm sure that's not really the case, but it sure looks like it. Get rid of him.

It’s 52 years. He was elected to Cardiff Council in 1972. Just like his fellow grifters and champagne socialists Lee Waters and Vaughan Gething he lives in a massive house in Penarth.

In Alun’s case it is literally massive, a gigantic Victorian pile worth about £2 million. Who said crime doesn’t pay?

    Worthless position.

Less commissioners and more bobbies on the beat please.

Re: Election for Police amnd crime comissioner

I guess the idea of electing the head of the police is one thing, although it's quite weird too - why not the same for head or the NHS etc?

Either way, it absolutely shouldn't be party political, it's actually pretty appalling that it is as I'm sure we would all agree we don't want a politicised police force.

Turnout will only be about 15% anyway. Waste of time and money
