70s Chris Dibble. Interesting read-up on Top Cat there. I'd forgotten it was based on Bilko, what a programme that was.

Sam Bowen came on for Dibble's former club, Wealdstone, at 2-1 down last night and they ended up winning 4-2. Three points clear of the relegation zone for now.

Yes, I always thought the cat Benny was. based on Bilko’s Doberman character - used to love Top Cat.

Can’t help thinking Sam Bowen’s career has been affected by what’s happening to his father.

Yes, Benny was based on Doberman and the actor who played Doberman did Benny's voice. Some interesting stuff in here.

Not sure about Bowen, that's hard to say. Morison obviously didn't fancy him at all and seems to have been proved right so far. You may be right but, as always, it's hard to pinpoint why some players make it while others, who are seemingly just as talented, fall away.

Well, all I can go by is how I would react in Sam Bowen’s position and I’m sure my football would be affected if my father was suffering with that awful disease.
