Ha...dis not realise he was from Treorchy....always had a soft spot for there as it was my very first job at 16...in the Midland Bank there...is it still there on the corner? Many happy memories ruling off the ledgers in ink (not biro...) at midnight New Year's eve...

Great to see him get a goal, not seen the game was the assist by Luey Giles?

Good to see a few youth players get meaningful game time, even if it was a forced hand.

AH...That's it...Cam Strinati.....great guy...I was young at the time...sometimes the till did not balance by five shillings...and I would ask Cam if he was sure his paying in was ok....he would always reply ..."it's ok...just adjust it" !!! Fond memories in life....

Not sure if you're aware of this, but Midland Bank disappeared 25 years ago...

Played well today. He certainly is a better bet than El Ghazi.

    Agreed.

His defensive work was solid which was important today, and yet isn’t easy for an attacking player.

A traffic cone moves more than El Ghazi. He has been an awful signing

Ashford was excellent today, and deserves to start on Wednesday, sadly I don’t think my optimism of El Ghazi going to star in the championship is going to bear fruit
I saw enough in that performance at Oxford to suggest he should be as far away as possible from the first team

It is if it comes natural to them or if they have the ability to listen and learn and adapt their game. I know hardly anything about Ashford, but the goal he scored against Oxford was text book, awareness, balance, composure, knew what was around him before he received the ball and he executed it perfectly. He showed a lot of qualities before the ball hit the net.

Agreed. His CV is better than anyone has ever seen him play.

He seemed to pop up everywhere on the radio.

I had a Watford stream and they really liked Ashford. They thought he could go to the top level.

Sounds like Cian's a shoo-in to start on NYD.
Loved his assist today for CR.

    Re: Clan Ashford

Cian has 2 goals and 2 assists from just under 500 minutes of championship football.

it's about 0.73 goal involvements per 90 which is very good indeed (although small sample sizes)
