I've always taken the break I want when on site, especially on day rate.

Glad to be back on the rails, don't need breaks with early knocks :hehe:

I can trump that, the lunch breaks where I’ve worked for the last 20 years was 19 minutes.

Our paths may have crossed at some point, I was in Sony & Panasonic quite often when I was at AB Electronics. Race & LG were also in the same SMT benchmarking group.

Job & knocks were a great incentive when I worked on sites yrs ago. Although my gaffer, an easy going guy, demanded top quality (and rightly so) or the knocks would abruptly come to an end 😁

We got 30 mins, it would take about 5 mins to get to my car, 5 to get to the delights of Asda, 10 mins there and bomb back, a minute late you lose an hours pay. No phones or internet back then. I always recall the “team poster” on the wall, about 20 people, only two were actually still there….

                          Re: Your working life.

I’m in my 46th year of working since leaving school at 18, 32 years full time and 14 part time. Some weeks I may work a full week but others it maybe be 2 or 3 days. When the weather is like the last couple of days, it’s great but there are times in the winter, when the weather’s crap, it can be quite boring. I’ll be able to claim my state pension in 2 years time when I intend to finally retire and do a bit more travelling.
