Too right. Is it West Ham and Newcastle who have just announced a new pre-season mini tournament in the US next year? Was reading something like half of the owners of the top 50 most valuable clubs in the world are American and then another chunk again will be from the Middle East... will have every Prem team playing at least a game or two a season abroad within 3 years.

It's an inevitable development in the modern age. Teams started out as local entities and the players were locals. As the game became more successful we often experience a situation where even a Welshman doesn't appear in our first eleven, let alone someone from the Cardiff area. Like or not, the game has become globalised - and the local connections are much looser than ever. Only the fanbase remains local by and large - until success comes along (not a great threat in City's case). Be careful what you wish for when the top teams are slaves to optimising their revenue.

Thy arrange big tournaments to get more games -> more money, then whinge that there's too many games.

These are pro sportsmen, they should be able to play more than once a week.
