There is a point you make in here around Truss and Sunak, and how they got there, how they were chosen, and the Truss budget. Beyond the policy details of the budget on budget day, you would not believe what else was going on that day behind the scenes in London.
The press didn’t report it and I cannot find any mention of it online anywhere. You are looking in the right direction, but the truth lies in another area of detail where you might not expect it to be.
In fairness Corbyn and his friends were easy to pick off in the media, if you're daft they will tear you apart like Corbyn, Johnson, and Truss, they made it far too easy.
That's why Starmer won't answer any questions or have any policies, it's a case of keeping my mouth shut or I'll mess it up, there is no way I can tell them what I think.
The robot question was funny, he answered like a robot![]()
A battering is good sometimes, without it you don't get a change in direction which is needed, 14 years and all the problems of the last five years, Brexit, Covid, Ukraine, the Energy crisis, and worldwide inflation on the back of covid and energy policy because of Russia there hasn't been this many problems in one term since the WW2.
Labour finally gets its chance given to them on a plate, lets watch them feck it all up as usual.
The most irritating thing about Beth Rigby is the way that she slows down and repeats the link she has been given to pad out any news report.
She sounds and looks as if she is imparting something profound, weighty, significant - when all she is doing is stalling whilst she tries to think of something new or worthwhile to say.... and fails. The anchor gives the story. Rigby repeats it almost word for word (very slowly) and then the anchor repeats it again as a summary and sign off. It turns a 10 second segment of 'news' into a 3 minute padding session. The bane of 24 hours rolling 'news', a lack of content, and 'reporters' (!) who value style over substance.
It used to be the same on Sky Sports when Bryan Swanson was employed to look important and relevant, but was neither. He too could turn a 10 second snippet into 3 minutes of TV coverage by repeating and repeating and speaking veeeeery sloooowly.
It is much better now with Kaveh Solhekol and Melissa Reddy. They are able to think on their feet and add something new.
On Sky News it is Sam Coates who does the same whilst Rigby perpetuates the Swanson school of overblown froth.
Sophie Ridge is a good interviewer
