Thread: Away Kit

    Re: Away Kit

All the opportunities with the 125 year to go off the wall

Ended up with a McDonalds uniform.

Would have loved to go for a riverside kit

    Re: Away Kit

What happens with these things? Does the club give some direction to New Balance or does NB gather up a few ideas and ask the club which one they like? Perhaps there were some other nicer options but the club said no, we want them to look like they work in a garden centre.

    Re: Away Kit

What utter marketing drivel “ the grey is a nod to the mining history of Rhondda - have a black kit then . What’s green got to do with it ? Is it a nod to the film How Green was My Valley? Awful colour, terrible collar and a hideous badge with the bloody worm on it again !

    Re: Away Kit

Thats one of the very worst shirts the club has ever produced. Truly terrible.

    Re: Away Kit

A possible pass as a casual top but imagine seeing that monstrosity in a rainy night in Wigan.

    Re: Away Kit

It's not great but collars on a football shirt is a must.

Exactly. Charcoal is not coal. Coal is coal. It's shiny, and black as.... uh.... coal?

    No.

Collars are for polo shirts , casual wear.

Good description....Why for once could not those responsible at the club be aware and co-coalesce to what the fans wanted to see....chocolate and amber....

Just been to the club shop and a few observations

    Blue kit is fine
Away kit looks better in the flesh but is still pretty awful, looks like casual wear and has the worm
Went to buy a mug with 125 on it and turned it round and it had the worm badge on it so put it back
A few casual items without the worm and a few retro kits but most with the worm

I know it is pathetic but I can't find it in myself to buy anything with the worm on it and I said so when they surveyed us a few months back

Like you I think they have missed a huge income opportunity this year and not sure why they think they know better - they seem to take one step forward and god knows how many back - it's bizarre

Lots of younger people with parents in there which was good and maybe the worm doesn't bother them I don't know

Oh and haven't driven in Cardiff for about 6 months - wow the 20mph is a killer trying to get around some of the main roads 😱

Just come from there , bought the training gear for my son and a beach towel for holidays in Greece , loads of way kits were being bought. I don’t buy football kits but my son will be having all three.

The away kit is nice up close and the colours are based on pick ( for coal ) and shovel for (grass )

But the pick and the shovel are both for coal.

Could be , but the green must be for the land the coal is under.

Should have been brown (chocolate) and yellow (amber) symbolising chicken curry and chips from Dorothy’s.

5xl & 31” long, made for square people?

I’m 6’3”, any shirt shorter than 35” is a waste of time / money. Why 31”

    Re: Away Kit

Why the fuss anyway , who, apart from children, would buy football kits as a fashion accessory anyway hehe:, at least they were released on time and you don’t have to go to walkabout as they don’t allow football shirts

Are you going to steal them for him? Or does he get an enormous amount of pocket money? Or maybe hes already old enough to buy his own kit and the style of your posts is misleading?
