Some very good individual performances. Bodes well.
He was in a few of the early training videos but then disappeared. Ng was pitch side tonight - along with a few others who didn't play - but I didn't see Romeo.
Not seen Horvath back either. I think everyone else (apart from Adams) has featured at least once (bar Willock, Chambers and Tsunoda).
Enjoyable game. Not the greatest opposition but we played well throughout and there was good link-up play and some excellent goals in there. Third time I've seen Kpakio, third time I've been impressed, very promising. Conte did well when he replaced him at half time too. Plenty of changes through the game but it didn't affect the momentum, we were good from start to finish tonight.
Didn’t he win the bleep test in Week 1 training?
He didn’t play against Kidderminster, Kortrijk or Penybont. Nor did Matthew Turner (Jake Dennis has been the sub goalkeeper).
Can’t remember if either of them played in the behind closed doors match? But even if they did it is odd they haven’t appeared since.
Minor injuries or heading out?
Those players who have not appeared so far have to be injured (eg Ng), on the brink of a move like Adams or new signings surely. King must be in the last category.
Regarding Kpakio, there was a time in my City supporting life when he would have been seriously considered for the first team against Sunderland if Ng was still out injured after a performance like last night’s- does that still apply? Eleven years ago, Malky Mackay picked a seventeen year old Declan John in our first ever Premier League game, how and why has the situation changed in the interim period? Maybe Erol Bulut will prove me wrong if Ng isn’t available for our season opener - after all, Kpakio gave the best right back performance I’ve seen in our three games at Leckwith in the past week against Pen Y Bont.
