It wasn't an assault , it was an assassination attempt. According to their loony lawyer !

I'm guessing bystanders only started videoing this incident when it fully kicked off.
Possibly so. There is absolutely no excuse for the cop acting like he did, and hopefully he gets a punishment that suits.
Personally, I don’t know why any youngster would want to join the police in this modern day society. They are on a hiding to nothing. A very good friend of mine is a serving police officer, and he’s on the verge of quitting, as are a few of his colleagues.
IMO they do a terrific job under the circumstances, yet this incident by one officer will further divide the relationship between the police and certain members of the public.
Us City fans should know only too well what it’s like being tarred with the same brush.

The person that was unfortunately, but justifiably kicked in the head and stamped on, should take this sage advice from this elderly gentleman. As someone who has run into 'trouble' abroad on a couple of occasions, his advice is spot on.

'....unfortunately, but justifiably kicked in the head and stamped on...."

Make your mind up - was it misfortune or a justifiable kicking and stamping?

How long into the police training course do they cover 'kicking restrained prisoner in the head and then stamping on them'?

Is that basic training or advanced/specialised?

Its worrying that people seem to always side with the police imo

Whilst most coppers are decent and do a very difficult job .....which they apply to do .....there are always bad apples

    And sometimes it becomes institutional

Greater Manchester Police are under investigation at the moment for what is alleged to be very poor treatment of women fleeing violence

Are all those that have reported this making it up ?

Are the miners who were baton charged by mounted police at Orgreave during the miners strike ......BEFORE any missiles were thrown at police officers .....making it up ?

An incident where a person is kicked in the head whilst on the floor and surrounded and seemingly subdued has GOT to be investigated

It seems lots of people out there have already made their mind up that a female police officers nose was broken by this man but what do we know ?

Love the pictures of how violent those Asians were to the police officers , particularly worrying is the punch they landed on the police women, that could easily been a serious punch, even life changing.

Hey I guess woman in some societies don't get much respect.

For all the cop haters enjoy.. I'm sure these punches on your colleagues, wouldn't stir you to lash out.. At the arseholes.

Disgusting yes they deserve to get charged, but the police can not go kicking and stamping on people who are no longer a threat.

Unfortunately for this male copper and thankfully for society its not legal for coppers to go round kicking and stamping on people's heads

The difference between ordinary members of the public is that police officers are trained to deal with violence

You join the police and you are going to bump into unpleasant people

Do you think this sort of thing is OK?

It might be understandable to over react when a fellow copper is assaulted but that doesn't give the green light for criminal assault

That's not self defence , it won't stand up in court

"Bump into unpleasant people" ? You make it sound like something out of Dixon of Dock Green. The asian guy was pummelling the policewoman's face for doing her job, and now they're protesting all over Rochdale and lawyers calling it a racist attack. No wonder the police lash out when they have to watch flash millionaire lawyers spouting sh*t all over the media..

I must admit I have seen no timeline between the triggering of the incident and the kick in the head. It could be the culmination of a series of events and airport police may be on alert to react first and ask questions later. Even so there seemed to be enough warnings that the guy currently with brain injuries was not a terrorist threat and needed more restrained, trained police intervention.

The bit I missed was your defence that police lash out when they have to watch flash millionaire lawyers spouting sh*t all over the media.

Do the police have some kind of button that gives this permission?

I think arguably more shocking than the kick to the head is how armed police approached this situation as clearly they shouldn’t have left room for this sort of escalation. Could’ve been a very dangerous situation, particularly in an airport

That video is bloody awful. Poor coppers were faced with absolute animals. No one should have to put up with that!

If you get big money in an authoritarian job you should embrace professionalism. Keep your personal emotions to yourself.

    He's been tasered

    He's incapacitated

Which was clearly the right thing to do

But He's then stamped and kicked in the head

Not having much sympathy is not how the law deals with things

Big money? Police get paid no where near enough, for dealing with violent scumbags on a daily basis.
