I have a vague memory of Pele transferring from Santos to New York Cosmos at halftime during a game, playing both halves.

They played against each other twice during the 2016/17 Championship season while Ward (GK) was on loan at Huddersfield and the other Ward was at Rotherham.

Danny Ward scored for Rotherham in the first game.
    Which one? Hero or zero?

One of them would have to play a league game for that to happen

I'm guessing Alan Smith's career at Leicester and Arsenal ended before Alan Smith's career with Leeds Newcastle and Man Utd got going.

Leighton James and Jim Leighton must have played against each other

Interesting thought, but no (unless they did in a friendly). Leighton James's international career finished in 1983 while Jim Leighton's started in 1982. However, in the home nations in 1982, Alan Rough was in goal for Scotland while James played for Wales and, in 1983, Jim Leighton was in goal for Scotland but didn't feature Leighton James. He'd played his last fixture for Wales earlier that year against England.

Jim Leighton played in Scotland until 1988, by which time Leighton James had almost finished. He had one last season with Burnley until 1989 but they were a bottom division side and didn't face Man Utd.

Here's a fascinating fact: Arsenal's Bob Wilson has an usual middle name - Primrose!

My second ever (glory hunting) City game. My first game was a few days earlier, from which you needed a ticket stub ironically, it was a Hull City stub. Probably 12,000 for the Hull game, 52,000 for the Arsenal game.

It's always been a condition of purchasing sought after cup tickets, you need to produce a Hull City ticket stub... even if Hull don't happen to be in the same division as us at the time.

Dave Watson (Norwich / Everton) played for Norwich between 1980 and 1983 and Dave Watson (former England captain) played for Southampton and Stoke between 1980 and 1983. Surely they must have played against each other?
