I'll put my hand up and say I was totally unconvinced in the early stages of his start with us.
He looked unfit, and far too inconsistent.
What a transformation! He's now got a good engine, his link up play with Colwill in particular is a joy to watch.
He seems to only know one way to play, and that is forward.
He's obviously worked hard on his game.
Well done Ollie Tanner!
he looks like a spoiled brat and is a bit cocky , which i like about him
He needs to give El Ghazi some tips on driving into the box with confidence. El Ghazi seems to have lost all the attributes to scare defences, he’s a much better player than he’s showing.
Fairly recently I didn't think he was good enough for this level, very happy to be wrong
Rubin Colwill has finally grown up![]()
Another great effort with his right foot today, not sure where that has come from all of a sudden
Felt sorry for the youngsters under Bulut especially attacking players. He at least has a chance now.
Ollie looks the typical confidence player, when things are going well, when the manager believes in him, when he is relaxed, he is a very good baller, we all can see he loves getting the ball down and running at players ( which defenders hate ) a player to excite
when he 1st came, I said he will grow into a special player, he is certainly on fire at the mo
I suspect the only person that willstop Ollie Tanner having a good career in the game is Ollie Tanner. The next step for him I’d say is to begin to spread his almost telepathic understanding with Rubin Colwill to other team mates - also, like Colwill, he needs to score more goals.
He’s always had that ability but my concern is whether he can keep it going if he’s playing three Championship games a week.
I’ve been critical of Tanner as he seems to have that natural ability, but I questioned whether he has the hunger to succeed at this level?
He’s last couple of performances suggest he has, and if he can knuckle down and maintain that level consistently, then we will have a good player on our books and he will have a chance of having a decent career
It really is up to him!!
Guilty as charged. Happy to be proven wrong on this one.
Is it possibly a case of us having spent so long waiting for a winger to take on a defender on the outside, that we're getting carried away with our opinions of Tanner?
I love his positive desire to drive down that wing.
I'm excited by that understanding he and Colwill have developed.
I'm thrilled by the nature of his goals.
His connection with the fans is genuine.
He still seems a little raw and rough around the edges with regards to his awareness and final pass/cross (Josh Low anyone), but all of that can be worked on.
I really hope he gets a lengthy run in the team to improve further.
He’s been allowed to do more of what he’s good at but I’m still not convinced it’s nothing more than a purple patch
Purely because of how bad he was just a few months ago
