Look, today was a great win, but let's have some context in that Plymouth aren't much of a side, they're winless away from home and are expected to struggle. Rotherham scored 5 against a mid-table side at home last season.
If we are to finish 10th this season, we'd need roughly the same amount of points per game average as a team finishing in 6th would need over a whole season. A top 6 finish would need an average of around 1.8 points a game, which would win automatic promotion more often than not.
I'd also suggest finishing anywhere between 9th and 16th as being mid-table, but there's quite a difference between them. If we finished 16th this season but look like we're improving and have things to build on, I'll be happy. I'd see that as a better season than last season - even though we finished 12th, in most aspects of our game we were generally dreadful and weren't building anything.
