Being picky, should have scored more, but great to see us creating so many chances, getting another clean sheet and picking up another 3 points.

was always likely to really, and the subs weren't terrible, they were like for like changes, just the game had gone a bit flat at that point

It's a phenomenal turnaround from what City have been producing over the last few seasons. Makes Bulut's remarks about not taking opportunities even more farcical.

Outstanding performance tonight, with Goutas, Tanner and of course Colwill different class.

Riza deserves huge credit. Exciting times.

I feel if we had a good youngster come through now they may well play. For the last decade or more i hadnt felt like that.

Its light and day from a few games ago

O’Dowda played well and Turnbull is coming good

Just want a Kanga goal now. He’s getting like Eddie Johnson

A very decent partnership developing between Colwill & Tanner and whilst not scoring I thought El Ghazi had a decent game, a pity he never buried his golden chance as it would have finished off a very nice piece of play.

He needed their energy, but the drop off in quality was noticeable. It just shows how poor our midfield has been over the last couple of years. Robertson and Colwill are a class above what we have had to endure.

    I agree

Very happy again. We made Portsmouth look a parks team in the 1st half. Should really have been 3/4 up.
Understandably they came back in 2nd half but rarely looked dangerous. I think they will have a long hard season.
Our turnaround has been remarkable. Things will even out as teams work us out, but we have enough class to be in mid table comfortably. Riza has to take a lot of credit. If things carry on in this vein over next few games he will have deserved a contract.

Yeah spot on, once Ralls and Ramsey are fit the dropoff should be less noticeable. I'd still start that midfield though

we missed more opportunities tonight than in all of Buluts games this season

yeah Davies, Etete and Ashford are probably desperate to get fit to get a chance in this team.
Bagan is looking like very decent cover at LB.
then there's Reindorf who must get a chance sooner or later.

Excellent piece of play. That move deserved a goal.

Another good performance in the main. Colwill really looking the part. I’ve always said he needs to be given a run of games and in his correct position. Can’t see how Ramsey gets back in as the 10 at the moment.

Downsides we should have scored more than 2 and were a bit sloppy in front of goal tonight. Thought replacing both centre mids at same time was a little naive. Siopis didn’t get the memo that we are playing forward now.

All in all a good few days work.

Great striker but he needs to know when to shut up , less is more when you’re the co commentator

    Riza - post match:

"I thought the start was excellent," he said of the performance. "I thought we could have had a couple more goals as well. The second half we lost a bit of control in the game and I thought we needed that third goal. That's something to work on, trying to control the game to try and not allow the opposition to cause us the problems they did. They pressed quite hard and we got quite tired, as was to be expected after Saturday.

"We haven't conceded a goal, which is a positive, but we needed more control in the second half. The first 25, 30 minutes, the boys were excellent but they came off it a little bit. They tried things they didn't need to, we need to be better in those moments.

"I want them to take risks, that's part of our game, breaking lines, forward passes. Rubin (Colwill) made some great dummies that allowed balls to go past the defence. But sometimes when the game is changing, you need to have a touch, or take a couple of touches, especially when you're tired and losing energy and strength, you need to recognise those moments better."

The transformation is huge. Front foot attacking football. We actually play comfortably out of the back we press as a team. Colwill and Tanner just oozing confidence and quality.

Turnbull looks a different player. I'd written him off tbh and his performances are an unexpected bonus.

How the hell was Robertson not starting under Bulut?

How much of this is Rizas ability or how useless actually was Bulut?

Despite Bulut really being exposed Riza still has to take a lot of credit.

My sons and I thought the same.

What a transformation, we look a totally different team to the one under Bulut. I think that’s 50 shots at goal in 2 matches, Mr Tan will be pleased!

There is now a decent footballer in Turnbull and him and Robertson are working so well in centre midfield . Colwill and Tanner are getting better with every start and Robinson is back to the player we saw when he first joined, he must have been so unhappy under Bulut.

Goutas and Chambers are improving too as a pairing though would still like to see Daland back in the side ( alongside Goutas)

Riza deserves great credit for the dramatic improvement

Pompey will struggle this season, they don’t appear to be as good as the team that got promoted last season , having lost a few key players since promotion, including Robertson - and signing Josh Murphy hasn’t helped them.

Will be very interesting to see how we play against West Brom, I hope we stay on the front foot, we look defensively so much more solid taking the game to the other team
