I don't think West Brom will be a promotion contender this season and I hope City won't be once things have properly settled down and the manager situation has been sorted out. I may be wrong of course, I often am, but I reckon yesterday's game will eventually turn out to have been a contest between two mid-table sides.

I meant I hope City won't be a relegation contender, of course.

Steady on, Steve. It was a decent point, especially in the context of the season so far, but West Brom are clearly no great shakes, and looking at their results that was apparent before yesterday's contest.

I didn't watch the game, but if the stats on the BBC report are accurate City didn't get a single shot on target.

You mention in another post that these are young lads. In fact, the average age of yesterday's starting line-up was just shy of 27.

As for favourite 0-0 draws, I'd nominate Pompey away in 1983 and Bristol City away in 2003, but the winner must surely be Cambridge in 1999 when City had three men sent off. That was quite extraordinary.
Just shy of 27 is akin to babes in arms at my age

It was like a scene from a Western (in the Eastern) everyone stopped talking , I am sure the juke box stopped as well .
The barman said , dont know him . I drank my pint , the pub was in silence the whole time .
    Lesson learned .

Funnily enough I saw one of the lads from the Tred was at the game yesterday.
I was amazed , he was alive and most of the characters of that time are alive and well.

The Tred closing is the only reason they're still alive, the all night lock-ins we used to have on the weekends were legendary, rogues gallery.

it was common knowledge back then that if the police were looking for someone they'd just have to call at The Tred, order a drink and hang about for an hour for him to show up.

It was embarrassing. A large amount of the crowd were trying to encourage it at Bristol as well when we had just thrown away two points. Luckily the players didn’t bother that day but yesterday was embarrassing

More embarrassing than a 4-0 loss?

Had a good buzz about it , from the start to the end .

If people want to enjoy their afternoon, surely let them.

I wasn’t embarrassed in the slightest, good to see players and fans as one.

If it was in the PL away at Arsenal I’d understand it but West Brom are a team we should be aiming to be competing alongside, celebrating a 0-0 like we’ve won the game is a pretty negative mindset. As someone said even some of the players looked a bit embarrassed by it and the West Brom fans were most likely bemused. Getting about 5 players to do it every home game is a bit much as well

Thankfully we seem to have left the “how shit must you be were winning at home” and “we’ve scored a goal” chants behind

I wish we could ditch that "is this a library?" nonsense too. It really gets up my nose.

    👍

    Especially younger players

Great for team bonding , great for young kids with parents getting into city to see

Exactly. We’re Cardiff City and should be capable of giving West Brom a game
