Thread: Usyk/Fury

  1. #1

    Usyk/Fury

    Rematch tomorrow.

I think Fury is in decline.

    Usyk on points.

Do worry with the potential of a mega money 3rd fight close rounds will go to Fury.

Hope if Fury pulls it off its not a hugely disputed decision.

    Re: Usyk/Fury

Fury looks focused, the first fight he was wayyy too cocky and overconfident, poking his tongue out and dancing etc, I think we'll see a different fight tomorrow.

    Fury late stoppage.

Is it me or is there lacklustre enthusiasm for this fight?

I think it will build over the next few days, I think Usyk will win, Tyson is getting older and it gets harder every year.

The soulless venue they've chosen doesn't help.
What a difference it make if was under the roof of the Principality Stadium or Wembley!

I read this morning that this fight hasn't got the hype as its in the shadow of the recent Jake Paul V Mike Tyson fight

I must admit I don't know too much about Usyk other than a few more recent fights but that surprises me.

I would imagine Usyk has taken better care of himself so may be in better shape, I think he will win anyway still.

    Can't see that.

Usyk is a beast in the second half of fights and Fury will gas.

Fury doesn't have the ability to knock him out early.

I think Fury wins the early part of the fight and Usyk wins the later rounds.

Who knows what happens on the cards, just hope its not a controversial decision to get a third fight.

it is strange logic on paper but Usyk's lived a clean and healthy 37 years, different to Fury who although younger has got more miles on the clock I'd say

Exactly….completely different ball game here, like a night of bridge with a load of old grannies over there

36 & 37……… And there was Harry Carpenter’s famous line in 1974, ‘Oh my God, he’s won the title back at the age of 32!!!’

Lifestyle. Fury trains. Between fights but eats shit, let's his weight go up etc. He doesn't live like an athlete. In my opinion Fury is as much a gifted boxer as Usyk is, incredibly skilled and intelligent. Usyk can adapt so quickly, even when Fury hurt him in the first fight, and it happened several times, Usyk took a step back, recovered and then put it on Fury. I want Fury to win, the only way he can is if he beats Usyk up, doesn't gas and concentrates for the full fight. I can't see it though.

Agreed about Fury being just as skilled and intelligent as Usyk. I want Usyk to win but think Fury might edge it, he seems lazer focused this time

By what yardstick is their respective intelligence levels measured? Are all successful boxers intelligent by dint of their respective successes?

Yup, although I just don't think it'll be enough for Fury Delm. Usyk is a machine, he doesn't cheat at anything, he's the ultimate athlete, on top of that he's also incredibly intelligent and talented. Like I said, I want Fury to beat Usyk, trouble is I just can't see how Fury does it, especially over 12 rounds, his legs have gone a bit. If it's close then I think Fury will get the decision, they'll make the Trilogy if they can.

How do you judge a footballers intelligence? The yardstick I use is by watching them and listening to those whose knowledge I respect. I would say that it's the same with boxers.

Was Rooney intelligent? Frank Bruno? Just wondering. I think that what is described as intelligence in the world of sport is not necessarily as to how it is understood otherwise.

Peter Whittingham was intelligent, Rubin Colwill isn't in my opinion. I suppose that there are many factors both biologically, physically and mentally that contribute towards sporting intelligence. You raise a good point, and i would say that it's a fascinating subject.

Really Fury about 274 with the clothing he had on the scales.

Haven’t heard from Fury for a few months before this week. I think he’s worked hard, and a prepared and in form Fury beats Usyk.

    Re: Usyk/Fury

I have it on good knowledge that Fury has lost loads of flab and bulked up his muscle mass that resembles a 56 year old mike Tyson.
