does anyone else think that Musk is just going through the world's biggest mid-life crisis? or possibly having some other sort of public breakdown?
I pondered this, as his tone has most definitely changed in recent months.
He's long been "anti-woke", which I think is great and refreshing and it feels like a era that is coming to an end thankfully. But I'm not sure he has been as aggressive or personal or clearly anti-left wing?
I'm also curious as to who is posting as the posts span the timezones a bit and seem to be pretty constant.
Anyway, all this has raised this topic to the top of the public discourse which is good, so clearly his words matter.
Maybe someone should tell him about Vincent Tan and our rebrand?
That's a very good read, I also think this is

I enjoyed reading that. Marina Hyde does seem to have the ability to stray from the editorial line a little more than most. It is annoying she has to dance about at the start before some key points at the end.
I had forgotten about that attack ad on Sunak about him not wanting child abusers locked up etc.
I think the whole dialogue on all this is going to change in the next year or two and a lot more will come out and a lot of conversations kicked down the road will start to be aired.

Q.
Apparently Greenland is home to the largest pool of natural minerals in the world to make things like batteries, lo and behold Trump fancies taking it….could this be for his battery mad buddy? Hhhmmmmmmmmmmmm
I have taken this with a pinch of salt, its almost as if he's deliberately winding his opposition up, but just maybe !!!
He's going to go big with oil and his mates cars might suffer due to this, however, if they do have the vast qty's of the minerals and Teslas could be made say 50% cheaper then who knows!!!!.
The other explanation I've read is that the US would like to do more trade with Greenland but Greenland generally falls into alignment with Denmark subsequently abiding by EU rules, Trump is trying to get the people of Denmark to break the autonomy with Denmark so that they can trade without EU legislations.
I wonder if Musk was part of the Q team ?

the minerals reason might make sense if there's enough of it there, the trade one is bollocks, Greenland has a population of 50odd thousand, it would be like the USA being desperate to do more trade with Merthyr Tydfil.
the security thing makes some sense as it would give them control over the north Atlantic, but do we really expect anyone to try to attack them from there?
if it is all just bluster or a wind-up it's extremely irresponsible.
if the Chinese decide to go and take back Taiwan, or if Russia fancies chipping away at another eastern European country then the USA will have lost all credibility in criticising those things
Any thoughts on his multiple recent tweets about the king dissolving the government, America invading and “liberating” us and promoting armed insurrections in several of the USA’s closest allies as a good thing?
Tweets that have been seen and received positively by millions of people.
Greenland is part of NATO through Denmark, so the US already has full military access. If they can't bully Greenland into joining, the US would have to leave NATO first (not impossible) and then would take on all of the costs of running Greenland. But its already got what it needs in terms of military so doesn't seem much benefit.
Well first of all, forget how you are accustomed to seeing the world as depicted on the Mercator projection.
Go onto Google Earth to answer your question and view the area taking in the polar region.
Oh, and when you do go back to looking at the world on the Mercator projection do bear in mind that the shortest distance between two points on the Earth (aka a Great Circle route) will be depicted as a curved line on the map. It's a foible of the projection concerned - and all map projections have their own distortions.
This is why the shortest flight from London to New York would actually involve flying over the south of Greenland.
