Agreed. I think that’s the best Fish had played for us. They stepped up tonight. It wasn’t pretty but I think we were good for the win.

they had about 4 shots all game

Big result, but with Cardiff leading 1-0 at home that was an atrocious last 25 mins showing from them.

Some decent last gasp defensive scrambles but why resort to that type of football for the lion share of the second half.

A better opponent in the final third would have easily taken all 3 points.

Makes me ask the question, where was the game management?

Not even close, although they pissed through our midfield for 35 minutes of the 2nd half, won nearly all of the 2nd balls and stretched us. Thankfully they had no quality in the final third. A win is a win, and i'll take it all day, but that was two poor outfits out there. Onwards and.........

A bit of context too in an inevitably very nervous match.

We had a back line of a central midfielder as right back. a right back as a centre back, a left winger as left back and (hellelujah) a centre back as centre back. Together with a goalkeeper who has barely played for over 5 months. 'Patched up' is an understatement.

Not pretty. Loads to criticise. But a win - against the odds, the form guide and the pundits. It will do for now!
