Brilliant actor - one of the very best - and a very interesting life story. He got into pictures the hard way.
His wife was only 63 (he was 95) and from the initial news stories it sounds like a suicide pact? I doubt the dog had a say.

The first film I remember seeing him (and we share a birthday by the way) was 'Freebie and The Bean' but I can't say I have ever seen a trace of it since, not even in charity shops or languishing on the shelves of Blockbusters (not that I used to frequent either that much).
He was 95, no suspicious circumstances apparently. Mississippi Burning is a great film and I thought he was vey good in Unforgiven.
RIP to both of them and the poor dog.
Bit of a change of tack from the police now.

Will always be Lex Luther for me and the nasty guy in The Firm.
Hasn't done anything since 2004 according to Wikipedia, which is interesting and an early retirement in that industry
did you ever pick your feet in poughkeepsie? well did you
Nice to read stories about what a genuine nice guy he was, being a normal person in the town they settled in, shunning Hollywood despite being a proper star. Top films always make a mark on you, Mississippi Burning definitely did that….
