We had them rattled without really creating too much. We did well at playing higher up the pitch and disrupting them.

do we need some more vocal leaders on the pitch - I'm not sure we really have anyone in that mould at the moment

Very disappointed to have lost that. Zero points from Burnley & Sunderland when we had plenty of opportunity to get a draw in both. Schoolboy errors & defending. Worked really hard & lost to simple mistakes.

Weve got lucky with other results today. Stoke, Plymouth, Luton all losing and Hull drawing.

Derby is an annoying one though.

Our board won't act but they should. Riza should never be in this position.

I think he will take us down.

Amazes me that the more bodies we have, the less they do their job.

Giving away an early goal again makes it's so difficult. Always going to be an uphill struggle.
Once they got their second there was only going to be 1 winner.

Totally agree with this. We don’t seem to have any vocal leaders. I think we were spoilt with Kav & Gunnar.

I don't know, i would probably say no. As a unit we switched off for the 2nd goal, that's what we do, that's what poor players do, they switch off. I don't know how anyone can fix that.

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

I make it that we had one attempt on goal in the second half. That was about as feeble a response to going behind as you're likely to see. What was the logic of changing formation when we know we can't defend?

alternatively we've been competitive in games against top teams in this division, and could easily have come away with something from either, if it wasn't for sloppy losses of concentration

It's a Valleys accent ffs. Let's leave him alone - he does a good job. Not something I'd like to try.

That cost us today, one moment where the daft ***** fancied a breather, were too interested in what they thought wasgoing to be a direct attempt at goal. Clowns. It's on the players in my opinion.

If we did go down it would be on the board, you pay peanuts you get monkeys.
Riza was purely a financial decision

I am 50/50 about Riza. Next 2 games will, I think, make or break our season.

    Derby have to play, Plymouth A , Portsmouth A, Luton H, Hull A & Stoke H yet.

Re: FT: SUNDERLAND 2 - 1 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

For all the debates around tactics and performance, our survival is solely based on one of the teams below us not going on a good run. I think weve got two, maybe three wins left in us this season at the very most.

I reckon 9 points will be enough to stay up now. Win against Luton and Oxford and 3 points from the other 7 games.

I agree he's better than bulut. But he goes defensively too quickly multiple times this season and it's cost us points.

He's a young learning manager it'd going to happen but he needs to learn to be not so niave when the momentum of the game is with us

This. Fancy having a problem with a local accent. Half our fans talk like that.

I think even a mediocre manager would have got us safe. His in game management started with the feck up when we were battering Bristol City when he them went defensive.

Yeah I think that this is correct.

(See the previous post though about paying peanuts.)

I don't. I think some have an inflated sense of how good they think our side is. For the most part, we've been crap for a few years now. I don't believe we keep having rubbish manager after rubbish manager.

Pretty worrying form we are in. Will there be a change?

Just 5 points from last 7 games. Continue that form we will go down.

Wonder if they will act or gamble riza doesnt carry on making the same mistakes time and time again in the run in?
