I enjoyed that, despite the result. I thought we looked really good in the first half, and very exciting to watch.
they had a 15-20 minute spell in the second half and then it was more even until the end of the game.
we had like 8 or 9 corners and didn't do much with them, while they scored from their first?
you could tell they would score too, our defenders didn't seem to know how to deal with it.
if we play like that until the end of the season I think we will be ok. massive overreaction on here and other social media
Referee was an absolute joke but he's not the reason we didn't win. That was down to a lack of ruthlessness to put away the decent golden chances we had. That first half should have seen us go in at least 2 or 3 up. As for second half, you could see the goal coming and for much of that half we were lucky not to concede another.
Agreed El Ghazi is a waste of space, a bit like the ref🤣 Thought the movement of Davies, Alvez, Ashford & Salech in the first half was excellent.

According to Riza that entire second half performance was down to the team and the team alone, not one hint that he was at all at fault for Cardiff falling away after what was a solid first half showing.
He was out coached, failed to react adequately to the changes made by Wednesday and his first round of subs Turnbull and El Ghazi were well wide of the mark of what the team needed at the time.
Riza, his staff and the team just cannot collectively put it together for a full 90. And that is on all of them, and it's about time he stood up to be counted.
I don't think it was the substitutions that Wednesday made that brought it into their favour, more that they came out in the second half with a lot more zip than they had in the first. they were getting to a lot of balls first, taking free kicks and throwins really quickly and our players didn't react.
Yeah the squad is weak.
We were once a physically imposing team. We now have a weak squad as well. Probably gone from the best at set plays to the worst in a couple of seasons.
Say this and some fans will claim you just want long ball though and be glad we are trying something different even if it's crap.🤣
Everyone in the ground except Riza could see within 5 minutes of the restart that they had changed shape and we were getting overrun in midfield but every sub was like for like until late on. Those two dropped points are on him.
We are only going one way with this amateur in charge
Whilst relegation is feeling more and more likely, looking at Oxford's fixtures I think we might somehow just about survive as I personally do not think both of Luton and Derby will survive.
That was a huge opportunity for 3pts and we ****ed up. However positive the performance was, with 7 games to go we can't afford to **** up like that. Simples!
I don't see it that way.
if we had played like Wednesday did and them us would anyone be on here saying "well done Riza you out managed the opposition there".
no people would be furious at how shit we were with only 2 shots on target all game and managed to scrape a draw from our only corner.
I'm no fan of riza, but i do have some sympathy with him when it comes down to player mentality, i've been banging on about how weak this squad is mentally for a while. I don't rate Riza as a tactician, but players have to adapt when they're out there, they can see things building, they can sense danger, they can manage themselves for periods in a game, they just have to ride certain passages in a game, that's what good or even average players can do, not this lot though, piss weak, characterless, roll over merchants. I'm not saying you think this, but i believe that there's way too much emphasis put on the effectiveness of a coach or manager stood in the technical area. They can make changes, but we've see this lot for the best part of two seasons, and they let themselves down time after time. Like you say, it is on Riza and his staff, but it's also on the players (not that you were saying differently) They're weak minded, and when the inevitable goal goes in from the opposition they generally wilt.
Well done Tuerto, glad someone has taken the time to write something like that. I’ve just finished writing my blog and I’ve been critical of Riza in it because I believe he made errors today, but, as you say, sometimes there’s too much emphasis placed on managers - too many of this season’s squad have been failing to take responsibility for things happening on the field for months now
