    Starmer keeps surprising me.

Just when I think he can't be a bigger twat, and he has reached rock bottom, he finds a way.

In the commons the other day I was looking at rayner , Cooper, kendal , nandy , streeting , Reeves all nodding along

No shape in any of them

It looks like once you get into the nuts and bolts of it, the bill has been watered down to the point where the protections are next to meaningless and that the campaign are still hopeful of a complete reset and a more robust bill after dialogue with the leadership. This is one of those situations where the headline doesn't really match the story. Time will tell if labour want to engage with the campaign and create something meaningful.

Our press needs clickbait to survive, I remember reading all sorts of 'economic doom' headlines around the time of NI rise, all quoting portions of statements by the CBI. I was a bit baffled as it didn't feel like the kind of change that could destroy the economy and went to look at the CBI statement in full, it painted a very different picture to what the press was luring people in with.

Yeah I do find Peter Stefanovic tends to be rather click-baity. This is where optics count in politics though isn't it. Certain groups you just really need to have on side, or at least do everything you can to do so.

One thing you’ll get from us on the “far left” is honesty as far as Labour is concerned - it’s not like the blind devotion you get from those on the other side of the fence. Truthfully, I had very low expectations regarding Starmer pre the election, but I’ve been shocked as to how I can find virtually nothing I can relate to him about - he’s a football fan I suppose, but it’s a struggle after that, I honestly can’t see how he ever joined the Labour Party in the first place.

Well Labour have had getting towards two days now to get their side of the story out and Ive not seen or heard anything yet on that front - maybe they’ve decided they don’t need a Director of Communications after the last one resigned?

There's no point in debating the state of the country with a conspiracy theorist who doesn't vote

It's like the French resistance trying to persuade the I can't be bothered peasants moaning about the nazis

I always thought he was a floppy haired student type

I can imagine him poncing up and down outside a indie nonsense gig in his stupid long coat crombie and Mark Kermode barber crop

Yeah, I’d read somewhere he had liked some good bands in his early years, so that’s something in his favour, but, really, I can’t see past things like him getting free glasses and suits as a perk of the job - I’m probably showing my naivety here, but Labour politicians shouldn’t be doing things like that.

I'm not really sure what people expected? The same fiscal and market pressures that boxed in Liz Truss apply now. Their very narrow definition of "crashing the economy" means that they are only ever a hairs breadth from that themselves. The reality of problems like immigration and housing and the small boats etc are now theirs to deal with and they realize it's much harder in government. Labour are now even talking about third countries themselves, which makes me angry as they should have supported the last govt on it

    https://www.lbc.co.uk/politics/uk-po...o-the-balkans/

I do think they deserve some credit for apparently reducing waiting lists, albeit slightly and apparently when compared to a time of a jnr doctors strike, but still. I think he has shown some fairly good diplomatic skills treading difficult territory too. Finally, they do deserve more time of course.

But yeah, life is no better than under the Tories and it was never going to be really.

Yeah I was looking for a Burnham take on it as I tend to trust his ability to be diplomatic when required but honest, and also this is a particular interest of his and I couldn't find one.

Won't get any arguments from me about the completely shit Comms from number 10, but that seems to be with or without a director of communications. I think it's pretty clear from the last 10+ years (including this 9/10 months of labour) that whatever the government, number 10 is filled with sneaky little limpets who attached themselves to the right boat but don't offer much.

What's absolutely simple to understand is that you are further right than even you know

It's laughable that despite this new government being poor you can't even accept that they have reduced NHS waiting lists ....apparently , maybec, whatever etc etc ....and you still cling on to your tory boy habits

    You are pathetic

Why not just say good news that despite being a very poor start at least the nhs cash injection has reduced waiting lists?

Even this positive either isn't that great or you can't even choke yourself enough to accept it as fact ....apparently

if it's pissing down with rain then if that doesn't suit your Billy bunter musings ....its possibly cloudy or some other soppy nonsense verbal spaghetti

    You clown 🤡

I'm the only one who has recognized the positives on this thread you dopey sod. I'm the only one who mentioned it, and other things such as his diplomacy.

Honestly, the state of you, sometimes.

And for the second time in about three days. Quit the personal insults. What I posted there in no way justifies what you've written and I think a lot of people are fed up with it tbh.

Have you noticed though with these right wing loonies - it’s no longer the far left but the radical left?
