He was hardly an inspiring up and coming manager though, we knew what we were getting and Tan didn’t really back him.
Tan fell out with Malky which impacted the team and then compounded it by giving Ole the job who wasn't the right fit for a relegation fight. After relegation and a poor start , Tan then decided he no longer trusted the managers with his money nor their transfer choices and started the succession of hiring "cheap" managers. We started to fall down the table over the following seasons even with parachute payments , he eventually got Warnock who turned us around, got us promoted but we blew it again !! The Warnock effect wore off and after yet another poor start after relegation , he was replaced by Harris who turned it around and got to play offs but failed and since then we have been on a downward spiral of new manager , rebuild, new manager ( cheaper option) ,rebuild, survive , new manager , rebuild, new manager ( cheaper option), rebuild, survive but will we see a break in the chain this time??? we need 3 wins I think, a big ask as he has only won 5 league games from 27 since he took charge
