Riza sacked. Aaron Ramsey takes charge

    https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news...ke-final-games

Cardiff City FC can confirm that a decision has been taken to relieve Omer Riza of his duties as First Team Manager.

Aaron Ramsey will lead the Club for the remaining three games of the Sky Bet Championship season, beginning with Monday’s match at home to Oxford United.

Chris Gunter, Joe Ralls, Tom Hutton and Matthew Bloxham will join Aaron in the technical area.

We’d like to thank Omer for his passion and effort during his time as Cardiff City manager and wish him the very best for his next steps in the game.

I pity the poor bastard having to take over this almighty cesspit of a club.

We have doubled our chances of staying up instantly.

As long as he dont get injured in the dugout.

I'd guess they've been returned to their duties with the junior sides.

Sign his mate Bale for 3 games, could do no worse

not enough seats on the bench

    Re: Riza gone

On the face of it, it does seem like a bizarre, knee jerk reaction, but with 3 games to go, it might just create a situation where we stay up by the skin of our shite.

    Ramsey Takes Charge

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football...s/c3dk0vj425lo

Wales captain Aaron Ramsey will take charge of Cardiff City for the remainder of the 2024-25 Championship season after the Bluebirds parted company with Omer Riza.

Riza was told of the decision on Saturday after defeat at Sheffield United left the Bluebirds one point from safety in the Championship relegation places.

Ramsey, 34, will lead the side for the first time during Monday's game against Oxford United at Cardiff City Stadium (15:00 BST).

He will be assisted by former Wales team-mate and current Wales Under-19 manager Chris Gunter, as well as Bluebirds midfielder Joe Ralls.

Gavin Ward will continue in his role as goalkeeping coach while Under-21 coach Matt Bloxham and Under-18 manager Tom Hutton are expected to make up the remainder of the technical staff.

A club statement read: "We'd like to thank Omer for his passion and effort during his time as Cardiff City manager and wish him the very best for his next steps in the game."

Ridiculous, if they were looking for a change, it should have been done straight after the Stoke game.

Yet again, the real cause of our problems has taken his duff managerial appointments record to eight out of eleven and I’m being generous there by not grading Slade or Harris as duff.

It is shit or bust, something had to happen, the worst scenario is we go down. Many are resigned to it anyway, absolutely nowt to lose.

Your right it's far too late.

But we somehow are still not relegated.

This side with Riza looked incapable of getting any points. This at least gives us a shout.

It’s later rather than sooner but binning Riza is certainly not ridiculous.

Yes if he really thought a change was needed it surely had to happen a number of matches ago.

Putting someone in who has barely got his badges shows the desperation and we are of course desperate.

Really hope Ramsey and co can inspire something but I hope Tan gets no credit for it if we do.

    Re: Riza gone

Should have happened half a dozen games ago when I believe it could have saved us.

I'm just glad I don't have to hear his dreadful voice and see his nauseating boat race on my telly any more.

    Basket case of a club.

At least it will give everyone a lift. Its a funny old game

Could be the second Ramsey football miracle, one with a World Cup win and one keeping our shower of shite up.

The team was garbage under Ramsey's captaincy this season - zero wins from eight games.

Let's hope he can somehow lift this lot from the sidelines.

I meant it’s ridiculous they let it drag on a week after we’d lost at home to a relegation rival - it seems they were okay with that, but not with being beaten at the team in third position. In fact, now that Riza is not seeing the season out, it would have made more sense to sack him after the Luton match.

If we do stay up, it will be despite the three part timers at the top - as it is, they’ve been having their judgment proved to be totally useless when it comes to choosing managers for the club every few months over the past five years or so.

If, and its a big if we manage to do a Houdini, then surely the club should get a smidgeon of credit, for trying something, even if its out of desperation. ?
