It's all a bit weird. Darren Purse, a former captain who made 115 (+8) appearances for the club and scored 12 goals, is the subject of scorn and derision in some quarters, while Aaron Ramsey, who made a total of 35 (+16) appearances for the club and scored 6 goals during three separate spells, is seen as a legend.
I get that Ramsey is viewed as something special because he was produced by the club and went on to have a career at the top level, but why such stick for Purse?
