He's 38! No ta
Probably have a season at Wrexham
Would he want to? Besides that, he'll be drawing his state pension soon!
Would be a very City signing to be fair. I assume the J League is probably not a destination for him?
If he’s got any sense, he’ll have a couple of yrs in the States.
He'd bring the average age down a bit at Wrexham.
If he keeps consuming RedBull in the volumes he does, he'll keep playing for another 10 years.
Jamie Vardy has played more league games for Leicester City this season (31 in the Premier League) than Aaron Ramsey has managed in two seasons with Cardiff City (13 (+8) in the Championship).
Vardy's an incredibly fit guy for his age and has netted 7 Premier League goals this season. It won't be a surprise to see him playing in the top flight again next season. He's far from finished.
With all the court costs him and his wife have had to pay, I fully expect him to go where he can get a very big pay cheque, either Saudi or USA.
I don't think we'd be top of Vardy's preferred destinations, but one thing we've sorely lacked the last few seasons and which needs to be addressed next year is a solid leadership group in the changing room. Two or three experienced senior pros who will set standards and hold people accountable.
I often think that if some of our current youngsters had come through when we had the likes of Morrison, Bamba, and Gunnarsson in the squad, we - and they - would be far better off. Apart from Ralls, we don't have anyone like that now, and I don't think you can underestimate the importance of it.
Assuming we're in League 1 next year, I wouldn't mind us going for someone like Tom Lockyer as a starting point.
That would be a terrible idea.
Lockyer hasn't played a game since December 2023. He has heart issues and has collapsed on the pitch twice. He's had ankle surgery twice in recent months.
We definitely need some leaders in the squad, but Lockyer would be somewhere near the bottom of the list of players we should be looking to sign in the summer.
