    Goalkeeper performance

not sure what this is based on, probably xG faced Vs goals conceded or something along those lines.

but doesn't look too great for either of our keepers really.

if we had a gk performing like Plymouth's has we wouldn't be anywhere near the bottom 3

Both dodgy at times , I would like a new one, but wherre are we going to get a better one to play in L1.

Freddie woodman is available on a free, but hasn't been much better

I used to think Alnwick was a damn good keeper at this level but must have been wrong - the computer says so..

he's close to the average in both metrics - although obviously how the team defends will have a big impact on things like the crosses that the keepers can cut out

Thought Horvarth had a good game on Saturday, but there were still a couple of dodgy moments from him, don’t suppose they’ll ever go away.

i,m pretty sure Horvarth won't be with us next season

Wouldn't be near the bottom 3? That's a crazy statement to make, you reckon a goalkeeper can be worth 8 or 9 places in a league table alone? Madness.

We dont need him, Alnwick will be adequate and we can get a younger back up keeper. Big question is can we move Horvath on, I would imagine hes one of the higher wage earners

yeah it was a bit of an exaggeration... however
taking this chart at face value (with standard disclaimer that I don't know the source of where they've arrived at that metric+ it presumably doesn't consider team effects etc) they reckon that Connor Hazard prevents 0.6 goals per 90 more than Ethan Horvarth (and faces more difficult shots on average as well)
over the course of a full season that would mean we'd concede 27 fewer goals - that would give us a positive goal difference, and probably put us mid tableish.

    That's why he's a championship goalkeeper

I stand by the opinion that these players are better than the table suggests and we should have never have gone down, and as for goalkeepers they're also better than League One

I think Hovarth is shite and puts the bejesus up me with the ball at his feet.
Which if I remember correctly was the reason Bulut got him in.

Hes nowhere near a championship goalie. If hes still here next season I will be distraught.

The weak link in a team of weak links.
He was horrendous at Burnley first game of the season.. Should have known then what was going to happen

He is rubbish with the ball at his feet and doesnt inspire me as a great shot stopper

Jak was and should have been our No 1, a big miss at the end of the season

Alnwick isnt very good either. Two keepers who are average at best by Championship standards.

Hazard of Plymouth could be a good fit if Cardiff could offer him a better deal than the Pilgrims.

Horvaths a strange one. He does make some excellent saves, but much of the time he looks like he has absolutely no idea what a goalkeeper should do, especially with the ball at his feet.
