Can't believe it. Makes me disappointed Darren Stevens didn't last a couple more seasons, could be his grandad !

Yeah, but can he play test cricket?

if anyone needs cheering up ,glamorgan batting first

    Re: GLAMMY

105-2 at lunch after a 90 run opening stand.

  6. #6431

    Re: GLAMMY

    233-3, Northeast 55 not out.

    Re: GLAMMY

336-6 at the close with Ingram 80 not out. Not bad after being put in as batting seems hardest on the first day at Cardiff these days.

2 of the first 3 wickets fell from the only attempted hook shots played before tea.

    Just a thought.

Not seen Carlson’s shot, but Al Hassan gave it away, it was a tame way to get out and I suspect he’s going to carry on being someone who puts together plenty of scores in the 20 to 60 range, but seldom goes on to get the really big one.

He took 4 wickets in the first innings in the Leicestershire match.

    Re: GLAMMY

A good afternoon for Glamorgan with Derbyshire 175-7 - Andy Gorvin, who is becoming something of a Sophia Gardens specialist, taking four wickets.

    Re: GLAMMY

Great idea to drop gorvin for the last 2 games and keep bashir in team who contributed zip. He’s chipped in with good runs in a good partnership, and wickets today. Easily glammy best day of season to date. Shame about this last stand.

Bashir still picked in the England test team though even though averaging over 150 this season- with the ball not the bat!

I’m convinced that is now stubbornness on part of stokes/mcull. It cannot be ability or performance. The thought of bashir as front line spinner in Australia makes me want to hide behind sofa!!

    Re: GLAMMY

In Bashir’s last game for us he was completely out bowled by Kellaway - he was a better batsman for us than bowler!

    Re: GLAMMY

Typical glammy - cannot break partnership. Now 76 runs and counting….

    Re: GLAMMY

Glamorgan trying to find a way to lose this game - a first innings lead of just 81 and they’ve collapsed to 15-3

  20. #6445

    Re: GLAMMY

Awful start to the second innings as well, 15/3 already. A draw would have been disappointing yesterday - I'd bite your hand off for one now.

Glamorgan giving the City a real go for worst sports team in the city this year, fair play.

PS - If Fernando doesn't play another match while he's here he can have no complaints. How the hell did he take 17 wickets against England last year?

As with our beloved football team, this lot are incapable of performing for a whole match. Its just not in them.

    Re: GLAMMY

Great last hour in store. All 4 results still possible.

Unbelievable after being 160/7 in reply to glamorgan 430 odd Derbyshire now set to win.

  23. #6448

    Re: GLAMMY

    8.5 overs left.

    Derbyshire need 60 runs.

    Glamorgan need 4 wickets.

All 4 results possible with half hour to go.

    Re: GLAMMY

Kellaway on a hat trick now. 7 down!!

    Re: GLAMMY

8 down with 7 overs left
