You have obviously decided how to characterise anyone who has a different opinion to you regarding this matter - and the fact that the courts, sporting bodies and a multitude of other parties, including some women's groups, think that there is indeed an important principle involved means that it is not a "non-existent issue".
It wasn't a moral panic. It was a legal clarification based on the rights and principles of women's sports, opportunities for women and also the serious issue of insurance and injuries. I agree that for some transgender women it makes life tougher, but unfortunately you can't just declare yourself a woman and be done with it - that's what the supreme court has decided. The fact it's a small minority is neither here nor there.
I think the bigger impact is on individual sports and as an aside I'm still not sure what the status is for people who have had gender reassignment surgery etc, has that been clarified?
