Fans don’t go because the football is poor. The only fans who ‘walked’ I reckon was over the rebrand. If the football was exciting and there was a bit of success, the fans turn up whoever the owner is. It’s been proved down the City (and other clubs), when things are going well on the pitch, the owners, to the majority are of no concern.
You’re really trying to push it that City fans are staying away because of the owners when it was the same lot in charge when we last got promoted, yet the ground was buzzing. Loads of fans have no interest in the politics of the club, they just want to go and see a decent team and, by the same token, they don’t go when the team are shite.

Salech and Robinson are under contract - for another 4 years in Salech’s case. They may want out (though I don’t think Salech is lying when he says he is committed to Cardiff) but it isn’t their decision. It is all down to the club and whether they want or need to cash in on saleable players or build for promotion.

What it means is as they are under a contract we will get a price but if they want out they will get a move.
Why would Salech want to stay with us with no manager in L1? Unless there was no interest which I'd be very suprised at.?
I'd be questioning the ambition of any young player staying with us if they are offered the chance out.

I want open season on Tan and the board. I want them to feel the ultimate responsibility for the failures of this team and for where we are now. I will do anything to get rid of them at this point, but unfortunately, we're not in a Dai Yongge situation where the EFL has to step in and ousts him from the club. So we have to do it ourselves.
I'm angry. Beyond angry actually, I'm irate. The standards people are accepting from the team make me ashamed to be a fan. I understand that yes, this is football, it's going to be competitive and some teams have to drop down for some teams to go up, that's the nature of the game. But this ownership has been a clear and present problem for years now, in particular with the changes to FFP limiting the one advantage Tan had in terms of potential investment. The game now is not investing hard, but investing smart, and the people running our club are the most clueless in the 92 now that Dai Yongge has gone from Reading. Even Chansiri from Sheffield Wednesday has a better idea of recruitment, and the guy argues with Wednesday fans on LinkedIn.
The club is in steep decline, and I feel the fans who refuse to see we need open conflict with this ownership to drive them out are enablers not interested in results, or too trepid to think creatively of any potential investors when we are a sleeping giant team in terms of potential.
Basically, there needs to be a campaign to be as opposed to the current hierarchy as much as possible. And I think that involves forgoing season tickets. I'm not giving the club a penny next season, I will not reward failure and neglect on this level anymore. You're free to do as you like if you feel supporting the team takes precedence over the long-term health of it, you're entitled to that opinion and to do what you want with your money.
I didn't give the club a single penny for almost a decade following the rebrand. It made no difference in the grand scheme of things.
A boycott would only ever work if thousands of people who usually attend matches are prepared to make a determined stand and stay away, but history shows us it's not going to happen, especially if the team is doing well. This much we learned for certain back in 2012, when thousands claimed to be opposed to the rebrand but carried on attending matches, supporting the team and celebrating the successes of Vincent Tan and his Redbirds regardless.
If people feel inclined to protest, they will. If people feel inclined to boycott, they will. But let's not kid ourselves here - the simple fact is that the overwhelming majority of Cardiff City fans in the modern era will do neither.

People/fans will always go, they won’t stop going en mass. It’s not even so much about the football, it’s about catching up with mates and the before and after…..the match is just the bit in between, and if you were lucky enough to follow us in division 4 in the late 80’s the game was just the sideshow….it might well still be for many
