I’m trying to recall which skittles were called the policemen? Was it the front one, or the 2 behind the front one?

I’ve played skittles for 50 years (except the 3 years when I lived abroad). 44 years for the same team until they folded due to Covid. All 4 of my boys have stuck up & played over the years. They didn’t get the Ł15 the stickers get now (plus free drinks & snacks)
Des, if you get 0 pins with 3 balls you've had 3 bolters 🤣 and the inevitable piss take from your team 🤣

Cheers HB, we call them “throughs” and 0 pins is a duck, accompanied after 2 balls by Old MacDonald had a farm …

I was getting too many spares to worry about Sunshines 🤣, never saw the 9 pins getting taken out with one ball but did see 8 go down, and incredibly it was the back diamond pin standing.

I used to play with work teams years ago. Was the Westgate a skittles pub, a pub in Llandaff North just over the hill, and many other good days.

I played most of my skittles in the Bridge Inn, the Civil Service club and the Vicky Park.

Yep, The Westgate had an alley. I played for The Grosvenor Growlers ( Cardiff & District League) from The Grosvenor and The Tomdors (Combined Clubs League) from The Shed on Seawall Rd. Great days, home night on a Friday but those midweek away games resulted in some extremely hard mornings in work the day after.

The one on the hill coming out of Llandaff North mentioned by NorthCardiffBlue was The Crown. Appropriately know as Crown Hill. The Cow was opposite Glantaf school. Now known as Disraeli House due to the rumour that Benjamin Disraeli once spent the night there when visiting a lady friend from the area……Disraeli never played skittles!!!
