I’m trying to recall which skittles were called the policemen? Was it the front one, or the 2 behind the front one?

I’ve never heard of a bolter (must be a local term), maybe it’s a duck or through ball. We don’t pay for a bolter whatever it is!

I’ve played skittles for 50 years (except the 3 years when I lived abroad). 44 years for the same team until they folded due to Covid. All 4 of my boys have stuck up & played over the years. They didn’t get the £15 the stickers get now (plus free drinks & snacks)

I was getting too many spares to worry about Sunshines 🤣, never saw the 9 pins getting taken out with one ball but did see 8 go down, and incredibly it was the back diamond pin standing.

Yep, The Westgate had an alley. I played for The Grosvenor Growlers ( Cardiff & District League) from The Grosvenor and The Tomdors (Combined Clubs League) from The Shed on Seawall Rd. Great days, home night on a Friday but those midweek away games resulted in some extremely hard mornings in work the day after.

The one on the hill coming out of Llandaff North mentioned by NorthCardiffBlue was The Crown. Appropriately know as Crown Hill. The Cow was opposite Glantaf school. Now known as Disraeli House due to the rumour that Benjamin Disraeli once spent the night there when visiting a lady friend from the area……Disraeli never played skittles!!!
