I reserved judgement on mannsverk for quite a while, same with Alves, i just couldn't get a grip on either player, something wasn't right with either of them in my opinion, although i didn't really commit, even after someone on here proclaimed them both as Premier league players in the making or something like that. Mannsverk was slow and mechanical and a bit predictable. He had one pace in every aspect of his game and thinking, when what we probably needed was some intensity and urgency in the middle (easy for me to say in hindsight though) Alves has attributes, he's young, very raw, but he reminded me of a wind up toy where the mechanics only allowed it to do circles. remember those two young lads from Everton under slade? sure there were two of them? wide players, contributed bugger all without really looking like poor players. Maybe there was only one......
