We sign 2-3 new players BEFORE there's a new manager in place, courtesy of our highly-esteemed transfer committee.
I don't think he will change, he hasn't in all these years and will probably see City's relegation as vindication of his scepticism of so-called football experts. Choo and Dalman will probably continue to try and be a bit too clever with their choice of manager - nothing so boring as picking someone with good experience at league 1/Championship level for them. Regarding Ramsey the only sensible option other than him leaving is a coaching role. The playing side was a sentimental failure and if you're looking to promote a player from this squad to manager, it would be Joe Ralls ahead of Ramsey.
The words root and branch come to mind after reading this piece,I freely confess that I’m not a coaching expert but for the last few seasons I just can’t discern any pattern to the way city are set up or play, I remember watching games under Malky when, although it may have not been the most exciting to watch, I could see the banks of players on the pitch and what they were trying to do,now it’s just so slow and frustrating.Whoever is brought in to manage the club and I’m sure, when that day comes we will all have our misgivings for different reasons, I would just like to be able to discern a pattern in our play and a bit of speed going forward. Hopefully, the process will not be drawn out and the new manager will have a bit of time to put his stamp on the team before what,I’m sure is going to be a critical season for us as a club.
We can fill our club full of top quality football geezers, but if they still have to run everything by Tan and get him to agree then it's doomed to failure as he has plainly felt he knows better.
He needs to bring in a proper structure and let people do their jobs, preferably full time people running the club day to day.
Then get a proper manager.
Then maybe a few years later we will make our way back.
Ken Choo will conduct a review and decide that all of the problems were caused by the managers & players.
Let them eat cake!
It feels like as Cardiff City supporters we're constantly waiting for news these days - whether a manager will be sacked; whether an interim manager will be appointed as permanent manager; who a new manager will be; and now what the outcome of this "review" will be.
So apparently we've asked the agents Wasserman to help us in the search for a new manager
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wass...ma/berater/440
so a good chance it'll be one of their clients?
WOL's article says "The agency has been given a remit by Cardiff to draw up a list of potential candidates to fill the manager's position as the club embark on their first campaign in the third tier for more than two decades. Wasserman have asked to whittle down candidates into a shortlist, based on the club's criteria, with their expertise largely targeted in Europe and in North America."
Where are those "candidates" coming from in the first place? Are they anyone identified as potentially a good fit, or are they just whoever contacts the club to say they're interested?
Also, was Wasserman one of the agencies supposedly engaged to help with manager recruitment before the club stuck with Riza? If so, what's to say they won't be ignored again?
Slight update.
@CardiffCityFC
are looking at a host of options as manager. One or two would excite, couple of others semi at best, a few don’t appeal to me at all. Hopefully they’re ruled out. They’ll come up with a final shortlist of 2-3, then it’ll be Tan’s decision
Paul Abbandonato just posted
seems like he's seen the names being touted
maybe but we need to get a management team in ASAP as mentioned yesterday before June the 1'st at latest but feel this is going to drag on
sorting out existing contracts who's coming and going wheeling and dealing in the market can take weeks .
we need to be hitting the ground running in pre season friendlies this season
Absolutely.
If I was running a football club I'd constantly have a list of 2 or 3 potential managers to approach if I sacked the current manager or he was poached by another club (imagine!), who could provide continuity in terms of philosophy and style. It always seems like a shock to our lot when they suddenly realise we haven't got a manager or anyone lined up.
We hit the ground running in pre-season friendlies last year while your mate was in charge. It counted for shit.
What the club needs to do above all else is appoint the right man. If that takes a few days, or a couple of weeks, or a month or more, then so be it. But they have to get it right this time.
