Good, it needs to be backed.
They were starting to get it growing before, but then Covid happened at just the wrong time and absolutely hammered smaller airports.
Hopefully this investment can get it moving in the right direction again.

Ł205m investment for Cardiff Airport slammed by Bristol but 'brilliant news for Wales'
Bristol Airport has issued a stinging criticism of Welsh Government plans to invest a further Ł205m into Cardiff Airport
Feck Bristol, we need a good airport and should try and use it over Bristol where commercially viable.

It needs to attract Low cost airlines with more routes
Jet2 now operates from Bournemouth as an example, a few routes to the canaries and mainland Spain and Greece etc wouldn’t be a bad start.
If you’re going to attract people to use the airport there has to be options and facilities
Make parking as cheap as chips would be a good option to encourage more footfall
Great news, Cardiff is always our choice if possible. Bristol is a piss poor airport, it can't cope. Every departure area is a sponsored walk away, no travelators like other airports, just a hike. Passport control on returning home is chaotic.
I just flew into Cardiff. It was dismal. Inside is not too bad. But from the outside, it's embarrassingly shoddy.
Good news, I'll always use this airport if they fly to where I want to go. Years ago I went on a holiday to Florida with a direct flight from Cardiff to Sandford just outside of Orlando. Shame they can't attract more long hauls as Bristol can't moan about those as their runway is too short.
I've always felt it could be a back up airport. When Heathrow had that fire it was madness how many planes turned around mid atlantic and went back to America. Surely landing in Cardiff and ferrying the passengers a few hours up the M4 was better than their customers being stranded a few days. The planes then only needed a short hop to get them to Heathrow once things reopened.
I used the airport quite a bit last year and have used it again this year, it's OK and better than travelling to BRS IMO.
Given Bristol is a hub for short haul travel, I've never understood why Cardiff doesnt look to attract more long haul destinations
They should have left the airport in Tremorfa, me & Splottie could have walked there![]()
I fly from Cardiff last month, the uber driver dropped me off at the bottom of the road with my case because he’d have to pay to drop me off closer to the terminal. This is ridiculous on so many levels but even more so considering how “busy” the airport is
Cardiff airport has already shown its worth in fighting the zombie plague in \World war Z
Yes, its actually an investment that Welsh Gov have committed to that has very little negatives.
