You have to perform mental contortions and a willingness to ignore the numbers to conclude anything different.
We can have different opinions, from what I saw of him here, not much, he hardly played, he looked very limited. I've seen Sio have some good games, especially for Greece against England. That reminded me that a lot of our players are better than they have looked while playing for us over the last three or four seasons.

Displaying your ignorance once more with that comment.

Adams is a Gambian international. Indeed, he's played international football more recently than Siopis.

You mention Siopis was a part of the Greece team that beat England, which is correct. But you neglected to mention he was also a part of the Greek sides that were heavily beaten at home by England and also beaten at home by Scotland.

Is that the same Derby County who were allegedly really tough opponents during City's 'incredibly difficult' set of opening fixtures this season?

Siopis played for a literally-bottom-of-the-league type team.

One of these players started 13 Championship matches that were won by his team during 2024/25. The other started just 2 Championship matches that were won by his team during 2024/25.

One of these players was the fans and players’ player of the year at his club this season, and that club avoided relegation to League One. The other wasn’t, and his club didn’t.

Can you guess which one is which?
I’m not a Sio apologists but this is a plainly stupid post.

One player has made 37 appearances for his country ranked 40th by FIFA and will play in the Champions League next season, and the other has played 26 times for his country who are ranked 126th.

Can you guess which one is which?

Things are getting a bit desperate on here when we are arguing over 2 very average players.

Yes, Buzby, I know which is which.

One had a decent season in the Championship by all accounts. The other was absolute garbage.

We had another player in our squad during 2024/25 who has made 86 appearances for his country and they are currently ranked 29th by FIFA. He was also useless.

    It's a funny old game.

No one said Derby were good. They were the weakest team in a tough set of opening fixtures. It was not the best time to play them, though, while still confident following automatic promotion from League One. We were getting battered by Burnley (promoted), Leeds (promoted), Sunderland (playoff finalists), Boro, and had to play Swansea away. Who was it who said that's just an average set of fixtures?

That's like arguing that, say, John Collins was a better player than George Weah because he won fifty eight caps for Scotland, a country that was consistently higher in the FIFA rankings than Weah's was.

The point at issue here is who was a more effective Championship player last season, Ebou Adams or Manolis Siopis? I honestly cannot think of a legitimate criteria whereby it can be qrgued that it was Siopis.
