An American keeper signed as cover in January 2000. He was with us for a month and didn't make any appearances, although I think he was an unused sub a few times.
I remember watching a game from the front of the Grandstand at Ninian Park and Fauer was one of the subs warming up on the touchline in front of me - he was huge. I reckon he’s probably the tallest keeper we’ve ever had in a first team squad, so, although he’s a good candidate for this thread, he certainly made an impression on me.

Alan Harper and Kevin McDonald both won First Division winner’s medals while at Everton and Liverpool respectively and I can remember being excited when they signed for us on loan, but they made no impression on me at all as City players.
Netting the winner in a South Wales derby surely makes you immune from this list!

About as much use as a chocolate fireguard.I reserved judgement on mannsverk for quite a while, same with Alves, i just couldn't get a grip on either player, something wasn't right with either of them in my opinion, although i didn't really commit, even after someone on here proclaimed them both as Premier league players in the making or something like that. Mannsverk was slow and mechanical and a bit predictable. He had one pace in every aspect of his game and thinking, when what we probably needed was some intensity and urgency in the middle (easy for me to say in hindsight though) Alves has attributes, he's young, very raw, but he reminded me of a wind up toy where the mechanics only allowed it to do circles. remember those two young lads from Everton under slade? sure there were two of them? wide players, contributed bugger all without really looking like poor players. Maybe there was only one......
