Appointing someone is a two way process. That article reads as if Tan will not interview or more to the point the candidate will not get chance to talk to Tan. If I were a candidate, I wouldn’t consider any role without a direct one to one with VT
So the club are applauded for not rushing a decision. But, in reality, we have yet again got to wait fro the whims of one man, who hasn’t got a ****ing clue about football, to make a decision.
Over and over and over and over the club sacrifices itself and basic logic to fall in line with this utter lunatic.
Bonkers.
It's left to Tan then.
Only difference is we've actually paid people to come up with a short list.
They may suprise us but it does look like the only difference is we are blowing money on getting a short list.
It's behond laughable.
It's beyond parody. In effect Tan's just asked for 3 names and he'll use his own judgement - not having met, spoken or interviewed any of them. I can only presume that Dalman and co. have made their preference known, it being highly unlikely that having gone through the whole process they haven't identified the best person for the job..
There is no chance whatsoever that Tan will appoint anyone without speaking to them first. And there was never any chance whatsoever that Tan wasn’t going to have the final say on this appointment. Some are acting like they’re surprised by these revelations. What on earth did those people think was going to happen?!?
1 I think it is fair to assume, that anyone on the shortlist would be considered a suitable candidate against the criteria set.
2 It is likely that there is a recommendation of who to appoint out of the 3.
3 It is likely that Tan will talk to the shortlist with at least one of the committee present.
I wouldn't want him and id have him behind even Evatt and Buckingham but I'm suprised Edwards isn't being considered unless of course the bookies are way off. Id say he meets the criteria of a promotion out of work and cheap.
And some of those linked have play-off finals to contemplate.
End of May would not give Nathan Jones enough time to clear his desk.
Names on the next manager betting odds list that are currently working:
Graham Alexander Bradford City

Why has Brian Barry Murphy just shot up to evens with the bookies?

Think all four he names are pretty good candidates, who’s the “outsider” I wonder?
looks like a Riza type of appointment, has been a coach at Leicester, though looks like he did well at Man City EDS, though Dai Hunt would have coped with the players he had, they really do have the best players and the deepest pool of them best players , but I guess people have to start the managerial journey somewhere
Personally I wouldn't be taking a punt on someone whose biggest achievement is at academy level.
