    Premier League final day

    Anyone having a punt?
Some tasty games on the last day in the Premier league. Newcastle,Villa, Man,City, Chelsea and Forest all jostling for places at the top.
Im gonna do a 20 roll up.
Fancy Villa to compound Man Utds miserable season with a win, Newcastle to beat Everton, Man City to win at Fulham. Also think Forest will feel the heat and Chelsea will do them. Even though Chelsea have a conference league final on Weds, I think theyll play their strongest team today. Also gonna add Leyton Orient for a 5 timer..
Bit of gardening this morning, then sit back this afternoon with a few cold beers and watch the games unfold.
Big ask with my bet, but if youre not in it you cant win it.

How many cynical Chelsea fouls is that now without a card? Baffles me Taylor is considered a top referee

Yep, this last day battle to finish between fourth and eighth has got me on the edge of my seat - just think of all of that money theyre playing for.

Really looking forward to Walsall v Wimbledon tomorrow.

Look at the scenes at Newcastle - they finished fifth on goal difference

Question from Monkfish and TOBW: why do you watch Premier League football? You grizzle about it relentlessly, yet still watch it. To me, that's very odd.

I won for a change. 10 four-fold on Chelsea, Man City, West Ham and Arsenal. It paid 75.60.

Nice to end the season with a winner. I've finished the campaign in arrears - Overall I'm about 70 down I think - but I only play for small stakes these days.

All very boring in the end. Shame Forest missed out.

Title and relegation sewn up weeks ago.

No one can convince me the race to finish 5th is exciting even if multiple clubs are in the running. Only reason sky and co try and make it a big deal is because the league title race is usually dull as dishwasher.

I usually watch it because I enjoy it, but I think its been a very poor season by the competitions usual standards this time. Liverpool have won it at a canter, but I dont see them as an outstanding team when compared with some previous title winners. Arsenal and Man City have gone backwards, as have Villa as evidenced by the English teams pretty ordinary efforts in the Champions League.

The battle to stay up was, possibly, the most boring in Premier League history and you have to admit that its a pretty ordinary competition when the blanket TV coverage has to desperately hype the race for also ran places on the final day of the season because theres nothing else of note worth mentioning happening.

The Premier League is safety first these days. Barcelona and PSG is where it's at if you want to watch entertaining football.

PS The Barca game starts at 8pm!

I rarely watch Premier league football, might watch Motd a couple of times a season. In my limited opinion, i would say that the technical side of the premier league is less, more emphasis on players being incredible athletes who can run, run and then run again. Good players, but Athletes first in some cases. Although that's from a very limited standpoint.

Any flair is coached out of them, just look at Grealish, what does he add if can't run at players? Contrast this with players like Raphinha, Yamal, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia and Doue, etc.

The wife & I have had a busy morning, walk, coffee, did some gardening and made some fresh pesto ready for this evening's meal. We were going out to the pub at 5pm so after sitting down and reading through the papers there was about 30-40 minutes while the missus got ready - so I turned on to the football - and PL was the only show in town. I doubt I've watched more than 1 whole PL game this season preferring to watch what is nowadays known as EFL. True, the players aren't as talented but the football is less predictable and for me at least, more enjoyable. I also follow my local club having thoroughly enjoyed my 22 home games this season. I've missed the hype you talk about, but then I don't watch the type of programmes that are likely to feature it that often. The minimal coverage I have seen on Sky Sports News in recent weeks has been reasonable enough. Nothing I've seen has been over the top, it's all been fairly balanced.

I didn't see the scenes at Newcastle you were referring to earlier, but I'm guessing they were celebrating gaining a Champions League spot? If so, what's wrong with that?

That's odd then, as you comment on it very regularly. Only last week you were talking about how poor Arsenal's game was and yet you apparently kept going back to it to check on the score.

The very same could be asked of you and why you watch Championship football.
After all you constantly grizzle about how poor a standsrd the Championship is
