Mull of Kintyre was number one at Christmas 1977. Forest went on to win the league that year. I assume that is why they adopted it?

But they don’t sing Mull of Kintyre, they use the MOK tune adapted to their own lyrics about their ground “City Ground”.
They used to run out to a terrible tune about Robin Hood, but it got replaced, due to fan pressure to the MOK / City Ground song some years ago.
