Thread: Wonder what the trust will say when ramsey is confirmed?

Wonder what the trust will say when ramsey is confirmed?

Remember after the Norwich game they released this statement.

"We thank Aaron Ramsey for stepping into an ultimately unsuccessful position as caretaker manager for the last three games of the season. However, we strongly believe that for the next season in League One we need an experienced manager at that level, possibly with Aaron playing a part in an assistant role to pick up experience (similar to Craig Bellamy under Vincent Kompany at Burnley and Anderlecht)."

The fact they used bellamy learning under kompany (who was 34 at the time) as the only example they could think of ramsey learning under an experienced manager is funny enough but I wonder what they will say now?

I might have missed it but I haven't seen the trust comment on any of the other names mentioned? Only that statement to specifically mention ramsey and on behalf of the trust they did not want him appointed.

I look forward to the official statement from the trust when he and the new structure is announced.

    Steve Evans as no.2?

    If Ramsey is confirmed...

If Ramsey doesn't get experienced people to help him, and changes in the background, he won't succeed. The Trust clearly don't want us to send another lamb to slaughter, and Ramsey knows this too

We spent Ł200,000 just to pick Ramsey...

Cue the most laboured, strenuous sigh I can muster. It's going to be a LONG season. It's better than Beale, Gerrard or Rooney I suppose, silver lining.

Ramsey wouldn't accept it if his coaches were going to be ramasut and purse.

Bingo, if he is to get the job, he needs proper help

Kompany was bloody awful at Anderlecht at first, too.

I don’t think I’ve heard a single name out of the multitude of individuals suggested as manager devoid of some criticisms or caveats, experience, inexperience, failure at this or that club,so many factors involved in whether someone succeeds in the job, there are no guarantees whoever is ultimately appointed.I think of Man Utd with all of the resources at their disposal, since Fergie retired, at least half a dozen international and home grown candidates for the job have failed spectacularly to follow up on anything like his success. I’m frustrated with waiting for a decision to be made but whoever is appointed, for me it’s still a step into the unknown for us, I just hope the journey will be a pleasant one.

Well at least we don't have to worry about this...

The gap has got so big, I don't think he did as bad as people thought at the time.

I just seem to remember highlights of his Burnley team continually conceding by feckin up trying to play out like Man City and thinking if he wasn't Vincent Kompany he'd be sacked.

Really? Continually letting his god awful keeper play out from the back and give him cheap goals in the name of philosophy?

Nobody has stayed up for a number of years, it will continue.

Muric is useless though, hilariously bad. And then Ipswich signed him.

Its only the last 2 seasons all 3 promoted clubs have gone back down. Both Fulham and Bournemouth have kicked on since being promoted in 2022.

Is the gap really getting so big that promoted clubs can no longer compete? Or is it because pretentious coaches like Kompany, Martin and McKenna refuse to adapt from their philosophy which get them promoted when playing much better quality teams in the higher level? Thinking they can dominate the ball and play through the lines like they did in the championship. Bonkers.

McKenna seemed to get a relatively free pass last season. Maybe because Ipswich hadnt been in the Prem for so long but he spent an absolute fortune for a promoted club and was every bit as stubborn as Martin. Ironic that he choose to sign Muric even though he had proved the season before he could not play out from the back. Sheer arrogance on Mckenna

Apparently we have to trust in the system. Yep trying to play out against some of the best ball poachers playing football.
