Perhaps the board called him in for an end of season appraisal and found he sounded better than anyone else they interviewed.
I’m wondering why any team would offer him a contract now. He’s finished as a player
To be honest this is a good thing. The move back has been a disaster and it would have just carried on if we had kept him as a player.
Good luck to him hopefully he regains his form and fitness for Wales, but this is no loss to the club on a playing personnel basis, sadly.
Agreed.
Whatever Aaron's intentions are for the coming season, I'm afraid that he is not ready to manage a club in the situation Cardiff City is in, nor is he going to get ready for a World Cup.
I hope that the fallback option of playing for us is off the table completely.
Sky sports now saying reports he is going to Mexico are not correct.
It is only one of several offers, and he has not yet decided his future
A 34yr old, currently injured, who has completed 8 matches in the last 3 years. Not sure what these offers would be ! If he's been offered just a reasonable deal to manage City then I reckon he's quite fortunate. If he really sees himself in management then starting at City for all the club's problems, isn't a bad starting point..
Can we keep in mind that in the absence of any information from the club about the managerial appointment every single comment about this by this message board and others itk or not is pure conjecture and random speculation at best.
When the announcement is made then we’ll all know.
All the guff about Ramsey going to Mexico may have been known and factored in by the decision makers.
The fact that I think Dalman and Choo are a pair of top class ***** who are ruining my football club is neither here nor there.
Idk why the use of the word cnt has been censored![]()
Let's be fair, none of us know what the hell is happening at our football club. Take a look at what the club have said so far.............absolutely bugger all, sweet fanny adams, not a dicky bird. So much for the increased interaction, improved communications, re-establishing the connection between the club and the fans. The silence from the club throughout this new manager selection farce has been deafening.
As with all things close season just believe what actually happens, when it happens and ignore all the rumour mongering.
What a crock of shite.
Any clubs named? If he's fit perhaps he's going to one of the two Mexican clubs playing in the Club World Cup.
Has he definitely signed for this Mexican club OR is he trying to force the club’s hand ?
Sky and Earnie talking as if it’s not definite yet !
It’s pretty clear Ramsey would’ve taken the job if he had assurances over the club showing ambition in the market, his coaching staff, to change the structure of the club, and that he didn’t get those assurances puts a real fear into me and other Cardiff fans when looking to the future.
If Ramsey needs a Mexican Stand Off to be offered the job, then something is amiss.
He is a 35 year old footballer, injuries now severley hampering his playing time and has zero managerial experience. But because he's from Caerphilly and loves the club he is seen by many as the next Alex Ferguson.
He comes across as a nice bloke, genuine in his passion for the club but would it be the right move for anyone concerned?
I think if the rumoured changes he would have asked for came to pass then it could have been.
He's an unknown, could go on to be a good manager, he could quit and be a pundit after a season. It's probably more exciting than an experienced manager that we know hasn't done much at this level but I think against someone like Buckingham I'd probably go more for the latter as he ta least has success at this level.
You're right though, if it's another ex player we had as caretaker there probably a lot more fan uproar at the idea.
I'm worried though that we just throw someone in without getting them the right amount of support around them, at least with Ramsey by all rumour he would need some structure and more staff at least.
At this stage it wouldn't surprise me if Tan was in discussion to bring Riza back in.
I know that Pedro ! But please forgive me, you give the impression that Aaron Ramsey is not only the greatest footballer in the Northern hemisphere but he is the best new manager to take the club to new heights. I for one would have liked to have seen him play for more than one two half decent matches in the last 24 months.
I repeat this is not a criticism of Aaron Ramsey just an observation of the facts and it does seem he is untouchable by 90% of the CCFC fan base, which is not bad for a player who has only played 40 games for us in his entire career!
We all know the real problems at the club BUT business owners are exactly that and customers (fans) can complain all they like. The man in charge is the man in charge.....
