Their winner was a direct result of us going three down, and Bellamy sticking with that open style that had got us level. In a previous post i was critical of the players and the way Belgium got the winning goal, but in fairness, the players had worked so tremendously hard to get back level that there was always going to be tired legs out on the field of play for the final 10-15 minutes, that was a deal struck up by us having no option but to chase the game. When we got the equaliser, maybe Bellamy should have gone flat and defended the draw, but i don't think that he wanted to do that, which i can sort of understand, although getting back to 3-3 and keeping that way would have felt like a win, Although i still believe that Belgium would have nicked a winner, so it's difficult really.

The criticism should be aimed towards the performance for the first 35 minutes that saw us go three goals down. Belgium are a very good side, very quick on the break, even from tight positions, and they allowed defensive players to join the attacking move in the final third, our defensive midfielders were pulled about like a rag doll. If there is any criticism then it has to be how we played during that 35 minutes.
