So who are the City Legends? I'll start with Phil Dwyer.
Fred Keenor and Alf Sherwood from a much earlier age.
Peter Whittingham and surely Joe Ralls for his service in modern times.
A team of Cardiff City “legends”.
Tom Faquharson (sure I spelt that wrong)
Phil Dwyer, Don Murray, Sol Bamba, Alf Sherwood
Peter King, Fred Keenor, Peter Whittingham, Craig Bellamy,
Earnie, Hughie Ferguson
No way Stansfield over Bamba, but Richards is definitely a contender although it'd probably be for Earnie if it was my choice - when you consider the player Bellamy was when he came here the first time, it was pretty amazing we got him and it was a fantastic gesture for a player so good to come back to his home town club - I don't think too many players would have done the same a shim.
The one I thought most about including was Peter King - I picked him because for the first ten years I watched City, he was there week in, week out giving 7 out of 10 performances, but is that enough to merit inclusion? On the other hand, he did score the best City goal I've ever seen and he was still running marathons in his sixties, and possibly seventies, so he isn't a terrible choice.
If not King, I'd probably make a sentimental choice and say Ian Gibson.
