The court case etc clouds the issue. The only way Tan would 'sell' would be presumably to retain a minority interest allowing him personally to see it through to some sort of conclusion. not sure it's about the money any more for him, more a question of validation of the club's stance.

I doubt that’s the main problem - even if it is one of them. Tan has never taken money out of the club and has never given me the impression he owns it as an investment. He has (per Choo) put £250m in over the period of his ownership and had opportunities in the past to ‘cash out’.

In my opinion Tan holds on out of a massive sense of grievance (Sala, Malky, agents) and genuinely doesn’t want to sell to anyone he thinks will milk or sink the club - whilst being blind to the effects of a decade or more of mismanagement (or non management) on his watch. It is stubbornness not greed and paralysis not calculation that explains where we are.

This was what I was thinking. Perhaps, if talks are at an advanced stage (no one knows), then BBM could possibly be their choice.
