thought we'd be looking at around 13,000 before the season starts

anyone on here not renewing this year ?

I think the crowds will be quite similar to last year. If we’re around the top of the table even more than last year.

Obviously if we get off to a flying start the crowds will be decent up there with last season figures but I think away followings this season will be alot less . Think they will drop off pretty quickly if we don't

    Fixtures out next week

I only went away to Bristol last season. This season I’m likely to go to more.
I grew up on smaller grounds so relishing the opportunity to visit some new ones and reacquaint myself with some others. The only problem is trying to get tickets due to the reduced allocations at these kind of grounds.

I think there’ll be a drop but I don’t think it might be as much as you suggest.

We’ve been a near constant in the Championship for the past 2 decades, most people that want to come here have been several times.

In League One most away fans won’t have been to Cardiff/CCS before or at least not for a long time

    I disagree.

Take into account what fans have endured over the last 5 years or so, and you can’t help but be amazed that so many people are willing to hand over hard-earned cash, up front, for this season.

I applaud the club for keeping the ticket prices at a comparatively low level once again.

There are some shocking prices elsewhere.

To be fair these are fantastic figures.

On the flip side its no wonder we don't see any change.

    What would be “good”?

11k is more than 20 out of 24 teams sold last season.

    In league 1 ?

We are the 7th largest city in England and Wales , good would be around 15,000. Little old Barnsley have sold 8,500.
Bolton have sold 15,000 Huddersfield about the same , 11,000 is moderate.

Coventry for example, ok they are in a higher league, have sold 20,000.

Not disputing it but where did you get that from, as I find stuff like that fascinating.

I think 11,000 is very good tbh and more than I thought we would see.

    2. Birmingham
    3 Leeds
    4. Sheffield
    5. Liverpool
    6.Manchester
    7.Bristol
    8.Leicester
    9.Cardiff

11,000 with a City of this size with and additional population 600,000 within catchment is poor

Bradford is certainly bigger than Cardiff and is missing from the list. Likewise Newcastle is a bigger city but statistically it’s skewed because they don’t include Gateshead in the population. St James’ Park to Gateshead is a 30min walk.

Last season 17 teams had average crowds of less than 10k. The next 3 had averages of less than 13k.

Assuming away fans and walk ups totalled more than 1.5k on average then only Birmingham, Bolton, Huddersfield and Charlton sold more than 11k STs.
