Can’t seem to find Neil young on catch up? Did he say something too real for the bbc?
He is notorious for putting restrictions on his live performances, so maybe he is going to review it or negotiate with the BBC.
It is well worth catching it if you can. His new band were really tight, and I think that brought the best out of him.
It was great to see him playing his old black Les Paul, which along with his wizzer (I think it is called) certainly bring out fantastic guitar tones.
He also used his old acoustic guitars, which is quite remarkable really, when you consider how old (and irreplaceable, in creating his sound) those things must be. Especially when, for example, Clapton retired his Blackie strat years ago cos it became fragile after years of touring.
Maccabees, wolf alice, nadine shah, brian jonestown massacre, sprints, alabama 3, a guy called gerald and the orb, reverand and the makers and du blonde...all tonight
loads of quality
Whatever you do, don't listen to a set by someone called Loyal Carner or something. Never heard so much shit in all my life. Bloody terrible.
Sprints didn't disappoint, best guitar tones of the weekend so far. The tunes ain't bad either, everything coming out of Ireland seems to be great these days.
Anybody watching fellow old codger Rod in a bit? I might give it a go, but I will be switching over to Turnstile when they come on at 4:30 PM.
One thing I've always been curious about is how far away from each other are the stages and why the sound from one doesn't interfere with another.
The Prodigy are f ing loud with lasers flying everywhere, yet timid little Olivia is playing there too, but they could be on different planets.
Prodigy put on a decent enough show….shame they didn’t do one love mind….tom tom club 1991![]()
One thing never mentioned about Glastonbury and it’s quite an experience, and it’s the drive home after 7 days of hedonism….always recall “my mates” who had fallen asleep one year before we’d even got off site the bar stewards…..the carnage on the m5 north with cars going off up the verges was quite a sight…..
I spent alot of time in tom tom's around that era, but that one isnt in the memory bank
sure I saw the play Astoria in town, it must have been after Charley was released though
saw them shortly after that near bath, must have been universe or tribal gathering, must have been 93 or 94
