    Re: Glastonbury Festival

I had to watch Olivia Rodrigo ( we are just back from Dublin as she played a big gig at Marlay park on Wednesday night, I got the girls tickets, but they dragged me to Dublin )

to be honest, the Glasto set she did wasnt too bad, she is fairly high tempo and can sing, she was living her best life and you cant knock that

sorry to be that guy but one love was released in 1993.

1991 would be your love, and both Jay Wearden and Moggy used to smash the arse out of this in hippos.

She's obviously trying to move away from m her Disney past by effing and blinding alot. She can definitely sing and her admiration for Robert Smith seemed genuine. Their duet (i fast forward to that bit) were pretty good.

Aye your correct, your love was what I was thinking the memory is fading some 30 years later….lol. Tom toms was a little later on possibly didn’t even open until 1992. Valentino or upstairs in clwb were the first rave nights I went too

In fact, the last open air event I went to was Led Zep at Knebworth in 1979.
Since then, seen a load of geriatrics still trying to cut it, and quite a few tribute bands.(some very good)

Now, where's my slippers and cardie?

sure I saw the play Astoria in town, it must have been after Charley was released though

saw them shortly after that near bath, must have been universe or tribal gathering, must have been 93 or 94
Tom Tom club sounds familiar. Is that the former Square Club? I saw a few bands there. Pop Will Eat Itself springs to mind.

Me neither. I'm not a festival person. Although I've been to quite a few, I really don't understand the appeal.

No Tom toms was on st Mary street nr high street arcade entrance. It became The Loop after….I think it was up two flights to ground level then two floors of the club, long and thin. It’s being renovated now to some sort of food emporium type place….
