The England women managed something arguably more weird in their T20 v India. The openers put on 137 then somehow managed to lose 9 wickets in the final 6 overs finishing on 171-9. The openers scored 82% of the total.
India were 123-1 in reply and managed to pluck defeat out of the jaws of victory.
Meanwhile, the Aussie batting line up is still far from convincing in the Caribbean. Shame.
I went to sleep assuming the women had lost as, after alternating between the two, I switched entirely to the Glamorgan game for the closing overs. Still not convinced by the women who were dreadfully bad in the first game and not much better in the second one - they should have scored another twenty or so last night as well.
As for Glamorgan, a statement win which wasn’t really as close as the score suggests, if we can improve our home record we should qualify from here. Great performances from Leonard and Douthwaite, while Ingram is having a brilliant last few years of his career.
Not seen it yet Rich, will have a look at the highlights on I Player (I missed the amazing pre lunch period as well!). It is a great series, but I wish Stokes wouldn’t automatically decide to field all the time - England we’re lucky to get away with it in the first test and it looks like costing them here.
Asa Tribe got 4 as Jersey lost their first game of the tournament to the Netherlands yesterday (his brother was top scorer with 39).
Jersey's next game is this afternoon against Italy but Tribe is named in our 14 man squad against Kent (along with Crane and Root, by the way) so we'll see what happens.
48-6, three wickets for Leonard, two for Gorvin.
Glamorgan 34-0 off 3 overs chasing Kent’s 118-9. Four wickets each for Gorvin and Leonard which means the latter has nine in two games.
easy win that
Glamorgan win by 6 wickets with 50 balls to spare doing their run rate a lot of good in the process. Asa Tribe comes in to face three balls and hit the winning four - was it worth it?
That was a thumping win. The encouraging aspect is the number of young players contributing. Leonard, Tribe, Kellaway, Horton and Smale all young.
Net run rate will have been boosted today.
England all out for 271 in the 69th over to lose by 336 runs. I’m probably being an old fuddy duddy here, but I think that’s pathetic given the situation they were in going into the game’s fourth innings. England need to be reminded of all the league titles that have been won by one point.
Very enjoyable way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Great win, top 2 and a home quarter final very much a possibility!
Hampshire lost too which opens up a gap to the top 4. If Glamorgan can beat Hampshire on Thursday they should finish at least top 4 and qualify for a quarter final
I was thinking of the best overseas 11 that have played for Glamorgan. Can anyone better this side?

Maybe chuck Ganguly in as 12th man. Didn't really do anything for us if I remember, but a great player all the same.
