yeah I saw that being mentioned on twitter yesterday, with equal numbers of people saying it happened, or it was entirely made up

According to a podcast I watched last night, City played Merthyr over the weekend in a behind closed doors game which they won 13-1. The presenter was unable to say how strong a side Merthyr had out, but City's team was apparently a mixture of a small number of first team players and young pros who may come into first team contention, but were, in reality under 21 players. Luke Pearce scored a hat trick and Joel Colwill got two, while Rubin Colwill was described as the best player on the pitch.

Strange to have played it without any mention in the 1st team or u21s pre-season schedules.
Yeah, yeah, but who got Merthyr's goal?
Shame a proper fixture with fans couldn't have been arranged. Would probably have a decent turnout for a friendly.
According to Merthyr's website they had a friendly in Aberdare at the weekend but will play Cardiff's U21 side om 25th July.

Two players wearing number 15. Who's the big lad?
Three goals and not one tackle attempted by Merthyr and only one half arsed attempt to close down one of our players. If we can get the rest of League 1 to play like that then we could be on to something this season.
